I was watching Buletin Utama on TV3 just now. There was this sms poll going on.

‘Harga ayam masih mahal. Perlukah pengguna memboikotnya? A. Ya B. Tidak. Hantar bla bla..’ (The price of chicken is still expensive. Should consumers boycott it?’ A. Yes B. No. Send your sms bla bla)

Okay, this is my lousy 2 cents. Boycott chicken? Then eat what? Eat fish? Eat lamb? Eat cow? Eat pork? (No offence to Muslims). As far as I know, fish price had increased, more expensive now. Pork? Well, the price of pork is decreasing, because of the issue in Malacca. They want to reduce the number of pigs, so they need to sell it cheap to clear the stock on hand. But no everybody can eat pork, especially in Malaysia. Me not a big fan of pork as well. So what are their choices? Become vegetarian? Harga sayur pun dah naik, just not long ago we all know the a kilogram of chilies cost you more than a kilogram of chicken. Everything is on the rise!! (Not my gaji.. and not the awareness of general Malaysians. Still ignorant and dumb as usual.. Sorry if you are offended. Siapa makan cili dia rasa pedas bah…….. :)) Ah, government just reduced the price of kerbau. Kurang RM1. So what? I don’t like to eat kerbau. Now they import kerbau from India, but sooner of later the price is going to increase again if there is no proper action or solution taken. I don’t get it. Simple issue like this cannot overcome? Find a solution? Buat apa jadi menteri?

Come on la, obviously this is an issue of demand and supply. You cannot simply set a price, an unreasonable one just because you want to create and impression that you are protecting the rakyat, taking care of rakyat or so call ‘menjaga kepentingan rakyat’ (my ass….) you do not allow the price to adjust itself based on the market. How the fark you can set an unreasonable ceiling price and force the traders to follow it? In a free market, the price of an item will go up and down based on the demand and supply. When the demand is more than the supply, the price will go up and vice versa. When an item price become more expensive and the demand is high, naturally people will see it as a business opportunity and they will join in the business, try to make some money or quick buck when it is still hot. So this will create more supply in the market to cope with the demand, and the price readjusted become more reasonable. It will reach to a point where the supply is much more than the demand, again the price readjust, become cheaper or farking cheap until people no longer see it as a good business. They will go ‘Oh not good money selling chickens, better sell vcds and dvds..’ and the supply reduces.. the price readjust.. This process will repeat itself again and again. I think most of you get it, even without me explaining. Simple economics, not a rocket science. Tak faham ke, Mr. Minister? Sah dungu..

What the ministry (government) should do is, they should do consistent, periodic enforcements to ensure there are no rogue traders out there to rip off consumers. There bound to be few rogue traders, bad apples and they just need to take care of this. But looking from the situation now, the ministry simply put the blame on the traders, saying they are irresponsibble, shrewd, cunning and worse they blame us for not smart enough!! Cheebuy.. it is smart if there are choices for you to make, let say Ah Chong sells his chickens at RM6, Ah Mudd sells his chicken at RM 4, you are smart if you buy from Ah Mudd. But if all or majority of the chicken sellers out there selling at the same  high price how to be smart? Tell me!! Smart my ass… There are no options for us to choose, being smart will not help.

 Looking at the situation, those chicken sellers are desperate. They just try to make a living, not to rip off their customers. Like one pakcik said when interviewed by TV3,

‘Sekarang ni saya jual mahal sikit dari harga siling, pun untung 50 sen satu ekor ayam saja. Itu belum tolak gaji pekerja, sewa kedai lain lain. Kalau ikut harga siling yang ditetapkan, tutup kedai lah saya. Buat apa saya meniaga, bagus makan gaji.” (Now even I sell at a price slightly higher than the ceiling price, I only make 50 cents per chicken. That haven’t factor in the cost, if follow the ceiling price, I may need to stop my business. What for I do business, better working as salary earner.)

50 cents, sell 1000 chickens only RM500. I pity the poor uncle. And how the ministry came up with the ceiling price? The minister simply pluck a figure? Or dapat ilham when main golf? Do you listen to the chicken sellers? Or the suppliers? Or producers? The sellers claim they get the price from supplier is already quite high, they have no choice but to increase price. Then the suppliers said the cost of to rear chickens become more expensive because the price of the chicken food and transportation had increased. Do you take this into account before you set the ceiling price? Buat kerja betul-betul la.. Just because you want to look good in the eyes of rakyat, you squeeze the traders. Think of it if all the chicken sellers decided to quit, don’t want to sell chicken anymore, eat pasir lah you. Menyampah aku. You all tak menyampah ke? Everyday listen to this kind of craps.. Sungguhlah menyampah……

Reward offered for identifying flag burner

KUALA TERENGGANU: Prize money of RM5,000 and an Umrah package for Muslims is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person pictured torching Malaysian flag during the riot at Batu Burok, here Saturday. 

The State Umno Youth would hand over the money to the informer upon the arrest of the person and the offer of reward is even open to opposition members. 

“This is a promise that we will keep. We want the culprit to be nabbed,” State Umno Youth chief Razali Idris said Thursday. 

He said Umno Youth wanted to know the identity of the culprit and the same sentiment is shared by other Barisan Nasional Youth. 

“This is not a question of political difference but more a matter of patriotism,” he said. 

A man wearing a helmet was captured in film while torching the flag on Saturday riot. State police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Ayub Yaakob said police were still in the midst of identifying the man and was optimistic that the offender would be apprehended. 

That is the guy!! So show your patriotism by helping them to identify this fella, and get that RM5000 as a reward 🙂 Muahahaha!! To think of it, I’m kinda desperate for some cash, should I name myself at the guy? Hehe… Hoi, spend the money for the reward somewhere else lah! Patriotik konon.. They are so many things to be concerned with yet they go berserk over this flag burning. What is more urgent? For Dewan Rakyat Speaker Ramli Ngah Talib :

“It is just a riot and the police are investigating. Therefore I find the matter is of no urgency and I reject your appeal to discuss the matter now in this proceeding“

 so he blocked all Parliamentary debate on the riots and yet he allowed few BN MPs bashing Wee Meng Chee (Namewee) over something he never do.  Quote from here

Datuk Md. Alwi Che Ahmad (BN-Ketereh), interjecting in the debate on Budget 2008 by Datuk Raja Ahmad Zainuddin Raja Omar (BN-Larut), asked whether the burning of the flag amounted to a rebellion (derhaka). “The flag amounts to our nation. Burning the flag amounts to a rebellion,” he said.

Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) said that in the past, he had talked about Wee Meng Chee over his action on the national anthem. “Today, there is another Wee Meng Chee. We should expel (halau) such people from the country. Use any law available to expel them,” he said.

Datuk Mohamad Aziz said: “Warriors would hold up the flag at whatever cost. If the right hand is incapacitated (putus), they hold it up with the left hand. But today the people have resorted to burning the flag,” he said, adding that people who committed such acts should be detained under the Internal security Act or other laws.

I don’t remember Wee Meng Chee burning any national flags. Rhetorics, rhetorics.. Are we not sick of these monkeys masquerading as our MPs? Do we still want to take crap from them? When they happily shouting “Halau dia dari negara ini!” at every opportunity. You decide.

Tomorrow is the 1st day of Ramadan. Muslims all over the world will start fasting for a month starting tomorrow. Fasting in the month of Ramadan is one of the Pillars of Islam, and thus one of the most important acts of Islamic worship. By fasting, whether during Ramadan or other times, a Muslim draws closer to their Lord by abandoning the things they enjoy, such as food and drink.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my Muslim friends Happy Fasting. I wish all of you a happy and peaceful Ramadan and hope by fasting during the holy month, it will strengthen the sense of solidarity dan fraternity among us. The forum was organised by The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (BERSIH), and BERSIH has posted a media statement on the incident here. Hmm, I think I should post it in this post. Check out the bold portions guys. Have a read at Jeff Ooi’s post here. Notice how unified our mainstream media when reporting the incident. All singing the same tune, even appeared to use same source of photos, when you check out this photo!! Interesting? Boring…….. but of course, their reports should be the ‘official’ and ‘approved’ version to be published 😀 You should know better, right?

Media Statement: Incident in Batu Burok, KT

1. On 8th September 2007, the Coalition for Free and Fair Election or BERSIH that comprises various political parties and NGO’s planned to hold a peaceful rally in the form of road show to convey their demands for a free and fair election in Batu Buruk, Kuala Terengganu.

2. In compliance with the standard requirement, organizer of the event applied for a police permit, which was however rejected by the local police despite appeals made.

3. In preparation of the event, the organizer erected a stage for the rally but at 5pm on the said day, the police trespassed into the said area and dismantled the stage without prior permission from the property’s owner.

4. The police also conducted several road blocks to prevent members of the public from approaching the said site.

5. At approximately 9.40pm BERSIH leaders and representatives including, Dato’ Mustafa Ali (PAS State Commissioner) were refused entry to the site. Also present were Dr Syed azman Syed Ahmad Nawawi (BERSIH representative), Haji Muhammad Sabu (PAS representative), Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim (PKR representative), YB Leong Ngah Ngah (DAP representative) and Haji Azmi Hamid (TERAS representative).

6. Negotiations were held between the representatives and the police, however the police insisted that the program be called off.

7. Tension erupted between the police and members of the public that have gathered for the event. The FRU arbitrarily discharged their water canon and fired tear gas towards members of the public, and this went on till late night.

8. An under cover police personnel later was found to have fired several shots towards members of the public who were assembling peacefully. One of the shots hit a member of the public, Suwandi Abdul Ghani, 37 which penetrated his lungs, while another, Muhamad Azman Aziz 21,was hit in the neck. Suwandi has been transferred to HUSM Kubang Kerian (from KT Hospital) for further treatment in a critical condition.

9. Dozens of members of the public were injured, 4 of them in serious condition.

10. 23 members of the public were detained by the police including three reporters. Two of them have since been remanded.

11. In the frenzy quite expectedly public property were damaged. And it subsided only after the police left at approximately 1.30am.

We therefore find:-

1. This unfortunate event occurred when the police denied the organizer permit for this peaceful rally despite an early application and appeal submitted.

2. That after having abided the decision made by the police to call off the event yet the police continued to apply provocation.

3. The main purpose of the event organized by BERSIH was to disseminate understanding amongst the rakyat of their democratic rights in demanding for free and fair elections. BERSIH among other demands, advocate the use of indelible ink, a complete revision of the electoral roll, the abolishment of postal votes and ensuring a fair media access.

4. Unfortunately, the police were used to block members of the public from exercising their rights in a democratic state, when they instead should focus to reduce the escalating crime rate in the country which is more of a menace to the rakyat as a whole.

5. We therefore find that it is most unfortunate that live bullets were used to disperse a peaceful rally. The usage of live bullets in addressing an issue such as this is most regrettable.

6. We therefore find that the police have failed to tackle this issue based on their own standard and procedures. There was no announcement whatsoever made for the crowd to disperse peacefully.

We hereby demand:-

1. That the Minister of Internal Security who is also the Prime Minister and the Inspector General of Police   explains the usage of live bullets in dispersing a peaceful event such as this.

2. All peaceful rallies conducted by any legitimate body should be accorded full assistance by the police without any need for a police permit.

3. The police should never be manipulated by the ruling Umno/BN for their cheap political interest.

4. The Terengganu Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh as the Chairman of the State Security Committee should bear full responsibility in this unfortunate event.

We representatives of BERSIH hereby reiterate our full commitment in demanding for a democratic free and fair election in our beloved country.

I can understand if they use water cannon or tear gas to disperse the crowd. But why real bullets? They may just killed innocent lives by doing that… Hmm, this is just the start up stories to the coming erection election. We definitely will see more of this kind of news in future, just wait and see.. Oh, I am talking about this, this and this… However, you may want to read something of a different account here. It is always good to read from both sides.. 🙂

I kinda agree with that.. Do you? I think it is safe to conclude that Malaysian Chinese testicles are smaller in size in comparison with their Chinese counterparts in other countries. Or maybe not? You tell me.. Why I agree with the above statement? I will tell you why next time 🙂

Updated 11/09/07 – I am amazed at the skills of Malaysian politicians being able to sidetrack from the main issue and divert your attention to something totally unrelated or of less importance than the real issue… So, the riot in Terengganu, they are more concerned about the burning of flags, rather than the right of public to have a peaceful civil society event/gathering, how and what measures should be taken to ensure this kind of incident will not repeat itself again in future, or why when it supposed to be the duty of the police force is to ensure the safety of the public but they went there shooting live bullets? They were not there to confront robbers, why the need of live ammunition? What really happened at Pantai Batu Burok? I don’t understand what is happening lately.. Now the funny thing is.. I quote from this post :

“The very ones who disallowed the ceramah to proceed and then used force to disperse the gathered rakyat are now to investigate the allegations that police agent provocateurs were at work on the night, that the force was excessive, that the refusal to issue a permit was political rather than considerations of safety?”

That is a bit like em.. say, you suspect this person was stealing from you, but then you ask him to investigate himself whether he did that or not… and tell you. Come on, the rot is too deep-seated, that is why we need an independent body that answers to no one but public to help find the truth. What happpened to IPCMC?

 Of spending wisely…..

Would you pay RM5k for something worth RM50? Most sane and even just slightly above retarded scale people will definitely say ‘Cheebuy.. you crazy ah?’ Apparently not for some of our Government officers. If you happened to read The Star yesterday and today on the Auditor-General’s Report. There are so many cases involving public fund mismanagement and list is long and sometime shocking!! Well, it does not come as a shock to me anymore. Everything, anything is possible now in Bolehland, true to the word Boleh!

Could you think of any reason other than corruption when it comes to cases like this? It is no longer smell fishy, for me it is more the smell of rotten, filthy, putrid decomposed, disgusting whatever shit that can be.. Smelling fishy cannot be applied here, not appropriate to describe the situation. Who the fark in their right mind will pay RM5k for something worth RM50? Or RM1k for something worth RM160? You and me know that something is really wrong with the system, with the people running our country when things like this happened. But you choose not to do a farking thing about it??

Yes, you complained a lot and protested when government raised prices for groceries, petrol.. Our brethrens and friends in government sectors rejoiced when the got their pay rise.. and expressed disappointments when they will not get any bonus this year according to the latest budget.. Well, it seems like everybody just care for their piece of carrot.. and nothing else. When it comes to issues like this we all go ‘Biasalah.. normal lah.. Malaysia mar…’ and we go about our life like usual, like nothing ever happened.. We are so screwed up to think that this issue, the mismanagement of public funds has nothing to do with us, ordinary joes and janes. That is very wrong, we cannot keep living in ignorance. Do something, a small random act of awareness by you will help change the situation. Express yourself, let those in power know that we are not happy with the way the manage things. We need to give a strong sign of dissatisfaction when we are dissatisfied. Whether they will respond to our sign, that is another thing. The initiative must come from us.

This is nothing political, this is about accountability, transparency, and honesty when dealing with OUR money. We pay for all this from our taxes. Oh so you don’t pay tax? If you eat at Kentucky, you drink coffee at Starbuck, you shop at shopping malls, you definitely pay your tax. Unless you stay in some underground cave, or jungle somewhere remote from civilization, you will pay tax. It is your money and how can you are not bothered when somebody blatantly use your money? Weird. People tends to shy away and regard this as a political issue, a way to pull them or persuade to vote against the government.

Something is gravely wrong the people scare of the government, the government they voted when it is supposed to be the other way round. Government should be afraid of the people, as we have the power to let them be the government and we can take it back.

Something to ponder

‘ The Government is very wrong if it assumes the public will just accept the wastage and will not angry.(I do not really see it as wastage.. it is definitely more than that, bigger issue than just ‘wastage’) The leaders keep saying the rakyat must spend wisely, but where is the leadership by example’

Of budget 2008….

What the fark is wrong? Tell me, how the hell an unqualified teacher earn more than a qualified teacher? Oh you don’t know what I’m talking about? According to the Budget 2008, substitute teachers will be paid RM150 per day starting January 2008. Simple calculation will tell you he/she could easily earn a minimum of RM 3000 (RM 150 x 20 working days per month). And the funny thing is…. starting pay for a trained graduate teacher is about RM2k, or less. I don’t understand that… Somebody help me out here??? Correct me if I am wrong… (Fark.. I earn even less than a substitute teacher now.. Guys and girls.. don’t be an engineer.. or professionals.. It is a big big scam.. Trust me.. )

Seriously, I am sick of reading scams cases reported in the paper nowadays. Those victims are just damn farking dumb, they deserved it. And to think still so many dumbass out there believe in something so ridiculous… Hey YOU!! Tell me…

How the hell you think you won something when you never even heard of the competition/draw/(insert whatever shit here) in the first place? You never join, register or hear of it before and suddenly you were picked as a winner? 20 farking million? A bungalow? A big car?  And you believed it? Somemore after the fella told you to bank in some money as a ‘commision’ so that the prize/money will be given to you? A commision? Service charge? My ass!! If it is real, the company or organiser will pay for it lah, not you bongok!! Or just tell them to deduct it from the winnings. Cannot ah? Why the hassle of depositing your money where the person told you he or she will deposit it back to you after you get the winnings?

Dumb people deserve no sympathy, they deserve some good scolding then only they will learn.. Yes, I can be dumb too, you could scold me anytime I do something dumb, but do not sympathise me.
