I couldn’t contain my disgusts when I read the article by Mr. Wong Chun Wai for today’s The Star On The Beatcolumn. I quote some parts for his article, with came across as smack of arrogance to me.

“Umno leaders are well aware that they cannot afford a repeat of last year with the elections in the horizon. Not that the anti establishment sentiments in the urban areas will hurt Umno. Not even a bit, as Umno is probably at its strongest, despite what has been written in the blogs”

“What Muhammad did not say bluntly was this – if you want to teach Umno a lesson, forget it, you can’t and, instead, you would just end up punishing the MCA or Gerakan”

“The Chinese community has always wanted the best of both worlds – the MCA to represent them in government and to handle their problems and the opposition to shout for them”

Mr.Wong Chun Wai, you are an editor for a mainstream media, but the way you write, most of the time you sounds like an ass kissing dog writing for its political master. Shame on you. And who are you to speak on behalf on the Chinese, that the Chinese only prefer MCA to represent them in government? And, I do not agree with the notion that only a Chinese representative can serve the interest of the Chinese, or only an Indian should represent the Indians in parliament or only a Malay can take care of his people interest. It is people like you bordering on the racism harping on communal politics, we are still suspicious of each other after 50 years we Merdeka. You are old already, STFU already..  Go get your Datuk title or whatever if you want and stop writing in any mainstream papers. Please… save us from your bigoted views.. you are so yesterday..

Do you notice that, we Chinese love to complain? If you read Chinese newspaper, (which I don’t because I am a farking banana! I only speak the language, cannot read and write except for my own name and some common words), you will read about reports, articles complaining about this and that, everything under the sun. And if you talk to your Chinese friends, they will complain about the traffic, the road, the food, the price and their favourite topic is the government. How corrupt the government, the police, the civil servants and they could talk about it forever. Bluntly said, we have here an apathetic community that keeps whinging about how badly they are discriminated against but are not proactive about improving their lot. They only “jaga periuk nasi sendiri’. When you ask them what they are going to do about it? Most of them, it is safe to say 90% of them will reply ‘What to do.. cannot do anything about it lah..As long as we can cari makan ok lah..Better stay out of troubles and wait for a change to migrate.” And they will continue to tell you that Chinese are pragmatic people, down to earth. ‘Why waste time fighting for something that you couldn’t change’ And they will add in something along the line ‘At least the Chinese concentrate on survival’.

So what is ‘pragmatic’?? I think it’s a bombastic word, but it means nothing but… it is just another word for ‘gutless’ or ‘going with the flow for the sake of survival’. Which also can be said that, pragmatic is also another way of saying.. ‘got no balls’..or ‘pussified’. It’s time to stop being a pussy and start playing balls.. yes, you!

Sure we hope what Michael Backman wrote is not true, but do you ever think that, what if some of it are true? Truth hurts, so we choose to ignore it and pretend happy. After all it has nothing to do with us right? What more important is we still can cari makan, peaceful, we still better off than Ghana, and it is not very good trying to disrupt the racial harmony talking about things like this eh?? What the fark expressing disappointment with your leaders has to do with racial unity? When lah we want to wake up from our slumber mode and start thinking, what the fark is going on?

‘Malaysia’s PM seems to be failing his people at every chance’

ON OCTOBER 31, Abdullah Badawi, Malaysia’s Prime Minister, will have been in office for four years. Abdullah came to office promising to fight corruption and to be a breath of fresh air. He has failed on both counts.

But he has achieved one remarkable feat none of his predecessors could: he has united most of his country’s
elder statesmen, established businessmen and intellectuals.

They are united in their utter dismay at his performance, a point that many such individuals made to me on a recent visit to Malaysia.

The despair is compounded by the near impossibility of getting rid of Abdullah.

Before 1987, anyone who wanted to challenge the president of the ruling UMNO party (and hence prime minister), needed to get endorsements from just two divisions of UMNO. Previous prime minister Mahathir Mohamad had that changed after his finance minister Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah challenged him for the leadership and almost won.

Would-be challengers must now acquire the endorsement of 30 per cent, or 58, of 191 divisions. This means that the prime minister’s office needs to pay off fewer than 150 division heads with government contracts and licences to ensure their support.

Critics within UMNO are anaesthetised by patronage and sadly the Prime Minister probably thinks that he is doing a good job because his inner circle constantly tells him he is. He is their ticket to riches, after all.

Ramadan has just ended and once again Malaysia has been treated to the spectacle of government ministers and other officials fasting and playing the pious Muslim on the one hand and stealing from their fellow Malaysians on the other.

Abdullah has had three chances in recent times to show that times have changed in Malaysia and to clearly assert his authority when presented with examples of such theft. He has blown each one.

The first was when it emerged that his Trade Minister, Rafidah Aziz, had handed out to her relatives, government officials and former officials hundreds of lucrative licences to import cars – without any clear procedures or transparency. A good leader would have fired Rafidah immediately. She is still there.

Another opportunity arose with revelations by the auditor-general last month of fraud and corruption in government purchasing. Some of the more flagrant abuses were at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs. It had wasted millions on purchases such as paying 224 ringgit ($A75) for sets of screwdivers worth 40 ringgit, or 1146 ringgit for a 160 ringgit pen set.

More seriously, the ministry’s head, who had the authority to approve contracts worth less than 5 million ringgit, was found to have approved contracts for almost 450 million ringgit. The ministry claimed that the then minister and now Education Minister Hishammuddin Hussein had written a letter of authority for the purchases but this disappeared during auditing. Despite all this occurring under Hishammuddin’s watch, he remains in the cabinet.

The third incident relates to an ongoing scandal at the Port Klang Free Trade Zone – Port Klang is Malaysia’s main shipping port. Essentially, the port authority was forced by well-connected individuals to buy far more land than planned for the free trade zone and at highly inflated prices, even though it could have compulsorily acquired the land, literally saving billions.

This and development costs, and “professional fees”, blew out the total cost for the zone from 1.845 billion ringgit to 4.2 billion ringgit. It is a scam of outrageous proportions and is just the sort of thing that is turning foreign investors off Malaysia in their droves.

Rather than make arrests, the Government is using taxpayers’ funds to bail out the authority. The auditor-general tipped off the responsible minister (a term I use loosely) – Chan Kong Choy, the Transport Minister – about the problems, as did a foreign partner in the zone, but Chan ignored the warning. Has Abdullah fired Chan? Of course not. Has the previous minister Ling Liong Sik been questioned by the police? Of course not.

These three instances were good opportunities for Abdullah to show his ministers who is boss. Well, he certainly did that.

One might ask what on earth the Finance Minister has been doing in the face of all this waste and theft. Or, indeed, even who is the Finance Minister? Extraordinarily, it is Abdullah. In a break with tradition, he occupies that post as well as being Prime Minister. The firings should start with him.

After all, it’s not as if Malaysia has a shortfall of ministers. On the contrary, Malaysia has no fewer than 72 ministers and deputy ministers at the federal level. By way of comparison, Australia has 32 ministers and assistant ministers. Is the quality of public administration in Malaysia more than twice as good as in Australia? Let the facts speak for themselves.

Malaysia is truly at a cross-roads. It has many good people with great potential but it is slipping beneath the waves of mediocrity, weighed down by officials intent on an orgy of plunder while the ship’s captain stands idly by.

The process of government needs to be dramatically and urgently overhauled. Malaysia needs a dynamic, strong visionary leader who is up to the task. Instead, it has Abdullah Badawi.

Wow, I never thought that a post lamenting that you are a boring person could receive so much comments! And yet, my previous post here received many comments from people that normally don’t or never before in this blog, and sudden increased of potential ‘fans’. Ha! ha! ha!

Anyway thanks people~! Maybe due of the nature of my posts that are mostly bit too controversial or deemed ‘political’ in some sense, some of you may choose not to leave any comment.

Yup, during a meet up with some blogger friends, they told me my posts are bit too heavy and they have no idea how to response to that. I guess I write for my own pleasure most of the time so I don’t really bother about the hits or what shits but it is good to receive some feedback from somebody out there reading your craps, don’t you think?

And that is why you see I post when I want to, without following a regular pattern like every one week one post or things like that. But I try to post up something every now and then so that you know that I am still alive and kicking some asses!

Lot of things happened last week. Some very important decisions were made and I maybe will share with you guys when it permits. No, I am not getting married, if that is what you think. Yesterday night I went out for a friend’s birthday party at Poppy, JalanP. Ramlee. It was the first night outing at club after last Christmas? Or was it cocktail party MW Sauber Paddock Lounge in April? The thing is I seldom party 🙂

Many do not believe me when I said that. Do I look like a party animal? Lol.. Most of the time, I only go out when my friends asked me to. Normally in the event of friend’s birthday, a far, a friend from far came down for a visit or there are shits to celebrate we will gather and us being young and boring… always end up patronizing bars and clubs. Hehe.. I have no idea why. I never be the organiser so far. If I am the organiser, maybe I will come up with fresher and more creative ideas such as going to the zoo or bashing up mat rempits. Hahah!

So back to the birthday bash last night, it was fun, the atmosphere was great! We had our photos taken, mostly us in intoxicated state. I don’t have the photos yet, hopefully when I get hold of those photos, I will remember to post it here. 😀

Oh, blardy Cibol called up in the middle of me gyrating around sexy ladies just to let me know he was also partying in his town across the South China Sea. (Bintulu la… that crappy dead town haha! Hey I love Bintulu weh.. no offence.)

After the club outing, we still managed to pay a visit to a mamak stall and I still downed a plate of maggi goreng in my intoxicated state. Tasteless I must say. Reached home at 4am, lepak down my condo and few of us (all batang..) talked kok. As usual the favorite topics were country bashing, race bashing, people bashing.. haih. Only went to bed at5am and woke up 11am. What a way to start my weekend!!

Enough with the inane ramblings of how I spent my Friday night wasting myself. Let’s talk about movie! Yes, SAW IV is out~! On theater 26th October. Due to the popularity and success of the previous installments- SAW, SAW II and SAW II, I think this one will also be a hit with the fans.

I had watched SAW film series and I love it very much. Not for the gores and the cruel ways of torturing and dying in the films, but the complexities of the story lines, the way all the characters interconnected and related, the plot is just damn good. You will watch it to the end without leaving your seat

SAW started as a low budget horror movie in 2004, a brainchild of two Australian film-school grads, James Wan (who co-wrote the story and directed) and Leigh Whannell (who wrote the script and co-starred). The concept is not something very new, if you have watched Se7en (one of my favorite flick as well), this unassuming, low-budget (under $1 million) slasher-cum-serial killer mystery-thriller flick stunned Hollywood in 2004 when it came out of nowhere to gross over $50 million! And the rest is history.

The first sequel SAW II released a year after that in October 2005, followed by SAW III in October 2006. Each of the sequel is better than before. The trilogy is one of very few film series where each new film has earned more than its predecessor. The other film series that I know is The Lord of the Rings series.

I think the appeal of the SAW films is the plot of the story. It is a dark, badass, dirty little horror movie about a demented killer who is arranging a theatre of the macabre with the expressed purpose of teaching his victims the value of their comfortable lives by giving them a taste of just how painful and terrifying life can be when all control and sense and reason is lost.

After watching the films, I think that the main attraction is the series of moral questions its core concept raises that fascinate me. Immediately after finished watching SAW III, I suspected they will come out with another sequel and yes, SAW IV is in theaters!!

And I spent my time today reading the reviews on SAW IV, refreshed my memories and man, I cannot wait to see it! I put that at my friendster profile. Yet, without fail everyday I still receive dumb chain messages which is pretty damn annoying. What is wrong you people? I can accept some corny butt jokes or some fetish porn stuffs but I really do not like stupid forwarded messages.

Nazri: We must verify video clip

KUALA LUMPUR: There is a need to first verify the authenticity of the video clip featuring a prominent lawyer purportedly brokering the appointment of judges before there can be any investigation into the judiciary or formation of a royal commission of inquiry, said Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz.

The minister in the Prime Minister’s Department said it was therefore important for those with information on the video to come forward and assist the independent panel set up by the Government to investigate if the video was genuine.

“It’s one step at a time,” he said when contacted yesterday.

“That is the process.”

“It’d be unfortunate if the mechanism (panel) set up is not used by the people.

“I really hope people will come forward. Then we can have a look at the judiciary. Otherwise, we may conclude there is no case,” he added.

The three-man panel was set up by the Government three weeks ago, but up till Wednesday no one has come forward to give information to the panel headed by former Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Haidar Mohd Noor.

Because of the absence of testimony, the panel – which also includes former Court of Appeal judge Datuk Mahadev Shanker and National Service Council chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye – could only hear the findings of the Anti-Corruption Agency, which was investigating the case.

Nazri said there was nothing more the panel could do other than wait for people to come forward because it has neither the powers to compel people to appear before it nor the powers to carry out legal investigations.

He said those who had already given their statements to the ACA need not come to the panel as the ACA would already be reporting its findings to the panel.

“What we want are other witnesses. I do hope that whoever has information will come forward voluntarily. Without it, the panel would then have to depend on the ACA as the only source.

“If possible, we do not want to rely solely on the ACA,” he added.

The video clip came from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), which edited it to eight minutes 26 seconds from the original 14 minutes and 16 seconds to protect the identity of the source.

ACA has since recorded statements from several people, including PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, party vice-president Sivarasa Rasiah, Anwar’s personal assistant Sim Tze Tzin, as well as a senior lawyer and a business tycoon implicated in the video.

Nazri said that after the panel received the report from the ACA, it could then also call up these witnesses voluntarily if there was a need.

Meanwhile, Sivarasa and Sim reiterated yesterday that they would only reveal the source of the video clip to a Royal Commission of Inquiry.
