Terengganu receives RM6b oil royalty in 8 years

KUALA TERENGANU, Dec 14 – The Terengganu government has received RM6.2 billion oil royalty from the federal government since 2000, said Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said.

He said the amount included the RM408.6 million handed over recently by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who is also Finance Minister. – Bernama

It is a wonder, despite getting RM6.2b in 8 years from oil royalty alone, the state has the highest poverty rate in the peninsula.

Mugabe, Toyo & Hamid – Tiga Sekawan?

Far away in South Africa, a country called Zimbabwe:

Robert Mugabe claims ‘there is no cholera’ in Zimbabwe

Robert Mugabe has made the extraordinary claim that ‘there is no cholera’ in Zimbabwe.

The President faced international criticism as he made the statement even as the toll rose to nearly 800 deaths and South Africa declared a border district a disaster area.

The United Nations said the number of deaths in Zimbabwe had risen to 783, with more than 16,000 cases.

But displaying his characteristic ability to interpret events differently from other observers, Mr Mugabe claimed the disease had been stopped.

In a televised speech at the funeral of an official from his Zanu-PF party he proclaimed: “I am happy we are being assisted by others and we have arrested cholera.”

Decision Making – Majority vs Minority, Popular vs Right

It’s Friday.

Let us be philosophical for a while. Forget the chaostic world out there and take a little time to think. Today, I am going to share a story on decision making I received from a friend. Some of you probably came across this story before, it’s quite an old story but worth to just read it again.

Good things last forever, it’s only wise for us to ponder over it, again and again because it is only too natural for us to forget. It is good to have a reminder every now and then, it rejuvenates and prepares us for the coming days.

‘Assistance’ for Bukit Antarabangsa landslide victims. Can it be more ridiculous?

KUALA LUMPUR: Residents affected by last Saturday’s landslide at Bukit Antarabangsa have decided to sue the relevant government authorities for compensation.

A taskforce set up to represent residents affected by the landslide feels it has enough grounds to sue as the authorities failed to act in time to avert the tragedy that has taken four lives so far.

What this reminds you?

Arrogance.

Snobbish.

Previously, I decided not to share my personal opinion on this matter,  although many people blogging about it, but after reading the above news I must say this.

Alfred Jabu is not an empty tin! How dare you think he is one!

Alfred Jabu anak Numpang is the Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak.

His style of politics is predictable, downright boring and retarded especially if you are not big fan of him. It is a wonder, a world record of sort how he is still holding power in office. I am not his fan. Listening to his speeches, or reading about him in the local newspapers often caused me diarhea so I try not to read too much stuffs on him. A man needs to take good care of his health, right?

But, his latest remark pissed me off.

“I am aware that some people are saying bad things about the government and me in their blogs and in public. But let us not waste our time listening to these empty tins.”

“I challenge them to do just 10% of what SALCRA had done. If they succeed, then we have reasons to listen to them. Otherwise they should shut up and don’t ever try to instigate the rakyat again,”

“They blog every day and night but have done nothing for the people. They only talk”
