Miri, here I come!

It is official.

I am relocating to the place where I have so many happy memories of my childhood and my youth (when I was young and horny), The Oil Town – Miri, Sarawak! It’s been a while since I visited the beautiful place. The last time I was in Miri, I was with a bunch of uni friends on their trip to tour Sarawak. Well, on my last trip to Limbang, I did stop by Miri for less than an hour, went to the town and had my lunch somewhere in front of Mega hotel and then back to the airport.

I brought my friends to Gua Niah, Miri City Fan, Open Air market (to see how some Sarawakians gulping down alcohol like water during broad daytime LOL! – that’s what they commented when we had lunch there), Sin Liang’s back lane strolling along the streets in Miri town and the craziest thing we did was travelling in a Perodua Kembara with 10 people. I have the photo somewhere, I need to dig it out when I have time and post it up. 3 persons sit in front, 5 person at the back, and another 2 person at the compartment area. Average size of my friends? Probably 65kg, 170cm+. I was considered average size compared to my friends that time. *ehem*

Imagine the look on my friend when he came to fetch us at the bus station with his Kembara. His first rentence ‘Ugh.. besai besai magang bala kaban nuan..’ (Your friends, all big size.. ). Now that I think about it, why didn’t we take taxi and save the poor Kembara from misery. LOL! Luckily only for short distance, from the bus terminal to my friend’s house. I still remember the bewildered (not amused) look from other drivers on the road, passing by our ‘congregation’. Priceless….

Now I need to settle few things.

1. Accomodation – I need to find a place to stay in Miri. Thinking of getting a nice crib for myself, but that will depend on the budget. If you can help, please let me know, I appreciate that very much! I already contacted Goolooloo, Ladybird and few other friends, let’s hope I get some good news soon!

2. Transportation – I need to move around the town, so I need my ride. Still working on that. I used much of my savings from last assigment in Kuching to pay off my rotten mountain of debts. It takes forever to clear, so you guys out there, take my advice – Don’t spend your future money now!

Miri here I come!

ps: So, I am soon to be a Miri blogger lah? *wink winK!* I just joined Miricommunity.net to find information on house/room for rent haha!

pss: Patt, Sandra – Let’s pay Nyonya’s stall a visit!

  4. Wow that sounds great! Imagine going back to live in a place full of your childhood memories and experiences 🙂 I guess they’ll come flooding back to you once you’re in Miri! I’ve never been there before (so I was a little surprised when I heard that people there drink beer like water) but it sounds like an interesting and great place to live in.

How are you going to move over there? Good luck with moving! I hope it’s not going to be a nasty experience *crosses fingers* take care!

  5. Terima kasih Melbie. Read that you are doing good in the new company. Being a perfectionist is good, but enjoying life is of utmost importance! 😀

I am planning to go KK, soon. (Okay maybe not that soon.) But KK definitely in my list of places to visit.. 😛

I was in Labuan that day ehe!

Miri is a great place to be. Nice people, beautiful town, pretty laid back lifestyle. Ehem, the food a bit on the pricey side, compared to other states in Sarawak.

It is good to be back to the place full of memories.. 😥 😥
