It is been a while since I post anything narcissistic. Once in a while, I need to be assured that I am the ultimate sex god, smartest pant on earth, most suave, good looking chunk hunk around, well you get the idea - flattering self reassurance or ‘ego massage’. It is comforting to read something good about yourself, to be told you are the best shit and depending on how you react to such compliments, it can motivate you to do better in life or it can stroke your grotesquely inflated ego until it burst as a result of self complacency.

This behaviour of self indulgence is quite disgusting if overdone. Excessive feeling of self-satisfaction is bad as some wise goats put it – ‘too much of a good thing is bad for you’. Good things must be taken in moderation for example red wine, taken in moderation reduces risk of prostrate cancer. (Guys take note!)

Just the reverse of ‘too much of a good thing is bad for you’ is ‘a little of something bad can be good to you’ which is also true. In certain cases, ‘a little poison is good for you’, which is the principle in vaccination and hormesis. Em, but I guess these principles cannot be applied to smoking. It is never good to begin with haha! Eh WTF.. A simple introduction to ‘massaging self ego’ and ‘excessive self satisfaction’ ended up with a long winded crap. Sigh!

From my limited experience, I found out there are few ways to ‘massage your ego’.

1. Get your bf/gf. He/she will say almost everything good that you want to hear about you, given the right time and mood.

2. Get your family, especially your mother (if you are a hot blooded male), father (if you are a sweet loveable female) (if you are neither a male or female… err.. find me? Or any volunteer out there? |1f34|-|1r3? Noktah Hitam? Cibol? Suituapui? Haha!) When I made a remark about my expanding tummy, my mom said ‘No lah, where got? Fat a bit look nice’ or when I came home with a shining bald head she was shocked but still managed to say ‘You look okay with bald head’ LOL! Thanks mom!

3. Good friends. What are good friends for right? Put them to ‘good’ use.

4. Go read those astrology craps. Check out the horoscope section (buy Cleo every early of the year) where they ‘predict’ and ‘assess’ each horoscope for the coming year, read the forecasts and personality analysis for people born in certain day, month, year. I can be sure almost all of the predictions and forecasts sound bombastic and receptive, put in a very ‘politically correct’ way. For example, in this previous post of mine, something written for Sagittarius:

SAGITTARIUS – The Promiscuous One (the Archer – 22 November – 21 December)
*Spontaneous.
* High appeal.
* Rare to find.
* Great when found.
* Loves being in long relationships.
* So much love to give.
* Not one to mess with.
* Very attractive.
* Very romantic.
* Nice to everyone they meet.
* Their Love is one of a kind.
* Silly, fun and sweet.
* Have their own unique appeal.
* Most caring person you will ever meet!
* Not the kind of person you wanna mess with because you might end up crying.

Oh.. it feels so good reading that such an orgasmic feeling.

5. Go do some personality tests. Noktah Hitam did a test at Ipersonic.com and I did mine as well. Here is my personality test result.

Groundbreaking Thinker (GT)

Groundbreaking Thinkers are charming, enthusiastic persons. They really bubble over with energy and like to take centre stage. They love variety both professionally and privately. Groundbreaking Thinkers tackle changes consistently with their optimism and firm belief in their own abilities; they are always on the look-out for improvement possibilities. Their excellent communication skills are of great advantage to them here. They approach the world with curiosity and openness and master new situations with a great deal of talent for improvising and with resourcefulness. Their spare time is taken up with a large number of hobbies; most Groundbreaking Thinkers like to travel in order to gather as many different impressions as possible. This personality type is unbeatable at discovering new possibilities.

In their work, Groundbreaking Thinkers highly rate challenges and diversified tasks. They cannot stand routine and too detailed work. They love to astound others with bold ideas for an original, new project and then leave it up to the others to implement them. Hierarchies, rules and regulations arouse their opposition and they love outsmarting the system. It is vital to them that they enjoy their work; if this is the case, they quickly become pure workaholics. Their creativity best takes effect when they work independently; but they are very good at motivating others and infecting them with their optimistic nature. Conceptual or advisory activities appeal especially to Groundbreaking Thinkers. It can happen that some people feel somewhat duped by their flexible, spontaneous nature.

Their sociability and enterprise ensure that Groundbreaking Thinkers always have a large circle of friends and acquaintances in which activity plays an important role. As they are mostly in a good mood, they are popular and very welcome guests. Grumbling and peevishness are unknown to them. However, they do tend to be a little erratic and unstable when it comes to obligations and this makes them appear to be unreliable to some. Groundbreaking Thinkers are very critical and demanding when it comes to picking a partner because they look for the ideal relationship and have a very concrete picture of this ideal relationship. Mutual aims in life are very important to them. They do not like compromising and would rather remain alone. For the partner, it is often a challenge to have a long-term relationship with a Groundbreaking Thinker. Groundbreaking Thinkers need a lot of space and diversity or otherwise they become bored and feel cramped. Types who are rather more traditionalistic often have problems with the willingness of Groundbreaking Thinkers to take risks and their often crazy, spontaneous actions. However, if one can summon up sufficient flexibility and tolerance for them, one will never be bored in their presence and will always have a loyal and faithful partner.

Adjectives which describe your type
extroverted, theoretical, logical, spontaneous, rational, innovative, intellectual, open, independent, curious, enterprising, analytical, clever, enthusiastic, venturesome, inventive, energetic, sociable, optimistic, non-conformist, creative, freedom-loving, charming, able to get enthusiastic, self-confident, communicative, capricious, inconsistent, outgoing

These subjects could interest you
documentaries, books, talks, museums, computer, Internet, strategy games, politics, drawing/painting

I must say this is quite accurate (or else I won’t put it up lah! Note to self – must only put good stuffs about myself, ehe!) Good enough to be used as part of my CV to score some points with future employers. Now go and read something good about yourself to cheer you up. Sorry, I need to go and soothe my inflated ego now. Nyahahahahaha!

Have a good day!

ps: Flattery is telling the other person precisely what he thinks about himself and it is all right so long as you don’t inhale. Just like cologne water, it is to be smelt of, not swallowed. Why? Because flattery is the worst and falsest way of showing our esteem.

pss: Excessive flattering self reassurance is a sign of insecurity, too. The individual needs prescriptions of sweet, tender loving - in excessive doses.
