Say no to Chin Peng the ‘former terrorist’, say yes to Communist China!

I applaud the decision by the Malaysian government to dismiss and not entertain any idea of allowing Chin Peng the ‘former terrorist’ to return to this country.

Government Will Not Allow Chin Peng To Return, Says Najib

PUTRAJAYA, May 27 (Bernama) — The Malaysian government will not allow former Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) leader Chin Peng to reside in the country.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the return of the former terrorist would lead to dissatisfaction among the people, especially those who fought the communists and families who lost their loved ones during the CPM’s revolt from 1948 to 1981 (known as the Emergency).

The government is absolutely right, many victims suffered during the communist insurgency, Chin Peng and his commandos killed many people in the past and they certainly do not deserve any consideration from us. No, I didn’t say that. Our very wise, informed and cultured Datuk Datuk Seri Utama Dr. Rais bin Yatim said that.

Several quarters and individuals, including Information, Communication and Culture Minister Dr Rais Yatim, have opposed the idea.

“Chin Peng and his commandos killed many people in the past and they certainly do not deserve any consideration from us,” Rais had said.

The communists abused this country and we had been shackled through killings and terrible actions committed by them,” he added.

We should never allow Chin Peng to come back to Malaysia. Thanks to our sensitive Defence Minister Datuk Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for putting it in context.

Defence Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had said his return would be an insult to the families of nearly 50,000 British colonial and government troops who died during the “Malayan Emergency”. (psst, the 50,000 figure is a crap is you ask me)

But I have some disturbing questions.

1. Isn’t Chin Peng was just a puppet for the Chinese Communist Party? His party, Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) was supported by its China main counterpart throughout their four decades in Malaysia. My question is, why punish the puppet, but not the master? Obviously we should punish China!

Let’s severe our all our diplomatic and bilateral ties with China to show our sensitive considerations to the suffering families that went through killings and terrible actions committed by the communists. Let’s show them Malaysia is serious about its past history, goddammit!

2. If I am not mistaken, China is ruled by Communist Party of China (CPC). So, let me get this right, China is ruled by a bunch of communists and why the hell we are courting them now? What happened to ‘the communist abused this country’ and ‘they certainly do not deserve any consideration from us?

What is our beloved Prime Minister doing frolicking in China then? Is he not worry that his visit would lead to dissatisfaction among the people, especially those who fought the communists and families who lost their loved ones?

I repeat, let’s severe our all our diplomatic and bilateral ties with China to show our sensitive considerations to the suffering families that went through killings and terrible actions committed by the communists. Let’s show them Malaysia is serious about its past history, goddammit

3. If I remember correctly, the British and Japanese  also killed a lot of people during their occupation of Malaya no? The British sure killed and injured a lot of people back then.  Remember the fights by Tok Janggut, Dato’ Bahaman, Mat Kilau, Maharaja Lela? I bet my last cent the British killed more people here during their occupation compared to the emergency period.

How about the war crimes and astrocities the Japanese commited against the people of Malaya during World War II? Wait, did the communists kill less people than them?

Let’s severe all our diplomatic and bilateral ties with Japan and British (now Great Britain) to show our sensitive considerations to the suffering families that went through killings and terrible actions committed by the Japanese. Let’s show them Malaysia is serious about its past history, goddammit!

Well, I do not agree and I don’t really care if Chin Peng was a freedom fighter, but that’s beside the point. Just how much longer we want to live in the shadows of the past? May 13th, Malaya Emergency etc. often quoted by our leaders to ‘remind’ us, about what? You should know better. Selective issues, don’t you think? Why it is only Chin Peng not allowed to come back to Malaysia? How about other CPM leaders?

Conclusion: Only in Malaysia, it would seem like history has to dictate how we we live tomorrow. Rather sad.

ps: I am sure Chin Peng was not a freedom fighter. He’s taking arms for fun, just like how I shoot people for fun at my Counter Strike game. Okay, Let 4 Dead lah, nobody play CS now. Okay, bad joke.

pss: What is this ‘my father’, ‘my father’ and ‘my father’ crap keep repeated by Najib? He has no backbone to stand on his own? To claim his own credit, other that relying on his father’s name?

Congrats Chong Wei! and Fork & Knife @ Jalan Song

First and foremost, congratulation to Lee Chong Wei for bringing back a silver medal for Malaysia! You did us proud.

Fighting world’s number one, Lin Dan at his homeground – China and at the game – Olympics hosted first time by China is definitely not a walk in the park. Lin Dan definitely was in his best moment, too powerful for anyone to take him on last night. Lin Dan deserved his goal medal, he was super quick, reactive and he played with such great confidence boosted by the amazing home crowd. Lee Chong did his best and Malaysians are proud of him. I know I am. Noktah Hitam as well. Melbie too.

China obsessed with having ‘face’, resorted to fakes for Beijing Olympics opening ceremony. What next?

Thursday, August 14th, 2008 2,074 views

I am sure by now many of you already read in the news or around the blogs on the issues surrounding Beijing Olympics spectacular opening ceremony footage. I was browsing Negaraku.net and I saw some blogs wrote about it, namely my life 4 hire and teddY-risatioN.

It is true, China even admitted shamelessly and see nothing wrong with to have parts of the spectacular, over the top Beijing Olympics opening ceremony faked to put on a flawless, impressive show to the world. If this is not hypocrisy, I do not know what it is.

In order to put on a a perfect Olympics, Beijing has swept its streets of fake designer handbags, pirated DVDs and phoney corporate logos. That dedication to authenticity apparently does not extend to Olympics ceremonies.I f you watched the opening ceremony in front of the television, you were duped into believing it was filmed live.

Olympic Fireworks Faked For TV

The global television audience of more than three billion people watched in amazement as a series of giant footprints outlined in fireworks proceeded through the night sky from Tiananmen Square to the Bird’s Nest stadium – except they were watching a computer animation.

Even the giant television screens within the stadium itself broadcast the fake images.

Stunned viewers thought they were watching the string of fireworks filmed from above by a helicopter.

But in reality they were watching a 3D graphics sequence that took almost a year to produce.

It even included a ‘camera shake’ to mimic the effect of filming from a helicopter.

The dupe was revealed by China’s Beijing Times. Speaking to the paper, the man responsible for the animation said he was pleased with the result.

“Seeing how it worked out, it was still a bit too bright compared to the actual fireworks,” Gao Xiaolong told the newspaper.

“But most of the audience thought it was filmed live – so that was mission accomplished.”

The designers even added some haziness to simulate the polluted Beijing skyline.

(Source: Sky News)

The organiser has this to say:

Organiser said that the footprint fireworks were there for real, but thought it unsafe to try to film them – so they recreated them instead

Here is my take:

1. If you could not get the real footage, forget about broadcasting it. Forget about saving face, I think Chinese are preoccupied with this ’saving face’ culture and will shamelessly resort to anything to maintain a ‘good, pretty, presentable face’. Image over substance, the end justifies the mean. It is really sad to hear what I saw on television and went gaga over it was nothing but a make-believe effect. Where is the pride of the Chinese people ? Down in the drain.

2. Some of the commentators at the blogs I visited equated criticism against this issue as ‘China bashing and another attempt to degrade China, especially by Western press’. It was China’s Beijing Times that first reported this ‘dupe’.

Furthermore, with this kind of revelation, you cannot help but to feel angry no? Anyone being deceived would feel the same way. Wait, I hear you. One by one please.

- We watch $200 million even more fake spectacular movies like Batman, Independence Day.. and we still enjoy it very much.

That is because we KNOW and we are willingly spend our hard earned money to watch the FAKE movies! See the difference? Unless China put a disclaimer before they put up the footage, then it’s another story. The organisers made billions of people thinking they were watching the real thing when they were not! After billions of people singing praises and glory about the stunning remarkable opening ceremony, then we know it was not real.

- Oh it is better then, they put up CGI effects instead of real fireworks, so it is even better! Less air pollution! Less fire hazards esp during the HOT summer now.

Huh?? Ehem, the firework WERE FIRED OFF! The fake fireworks were not replacement for the real ones. China feed the ‘perfect footage which took them almost 1 year to produce’ to international broadcasters after firing the real fireworks.

We I just do not see the need for them to recreate the whole fireworks display for the sake of grandeur and perfection. Utter crap.

That is not all, apparently the very cute girl singing to the song ‘Ode to the Motherland’ was merely lip syncing to the song. Not so bad right? Considering many singers nowadays cannot even sing live and always do miming, but what is more outrageous was, the girl is not the original singer at all!! She was lip syncing to the song originally sang by another not-so-cute girl!! The organisers kept mum about the issue, never even bothered to give ANY CREDIT  giving any credit  until it was leaked out yesterday and now China enforced a media blackout on the fake song issue. Typical of China.

Chinese media blackout on faked Olympic ceremony saga

BEIJING (AFP) – China enforced a media blackout on the saga of the faked Olympic opening ceremony song on Wednesday and all references to the story were removed from Chinese Internet sites.

Beijing’s Olympic organisers admitted on Tuesday that nine-year-old Lin Miaoke, who was seen by millions around the world singing during the ceremony, was actually miming a song that was pre-recorded by another girl.

The show’s musical director revealed the real singer, seven-year-old Yang Peiyi who has uneven teeth and a chubby face, was replaced by government order because she did not present the right image of China.

(Source: AFP)

Ridiculous! What ‘right image of China’? So this is the right image of China? Resorting to lies and deceptions in order to have that ‘right image?’ Hilarious! It is disheartening and sad, they ruined an otherwise pretty awesome ceremony with those fakes. Little that we expect, for a big country like China to display symptoms uncannily resembles those countries suffering from inferiority complex syndrome.

The issue here is honesty. If China has been honest about all this before first hand, I do not see any problem for people to accept the facts, especially on the ‘fake fireworks’, as it involves safety issue and requires great planning, efforts to film the real fireworks. I have problem with China ’sidelined the less cute girl and presented a cute girl miming to a song, without giving due credit to the original singer – the less cute girl.’

Now, instead of being honest and apologetic over the issue, China made some ridiculous statements and this only add oil to the burning criticism against China, especially after the Tibet and Taiwan issue. Opportunists and China detractors will pounce on this issue, that is for sure.

I sarcastically remarked in my previous post:

It is not uncommon to hear remarks praising Chinese people as ruthless, conniving, greedy and materialistic bastards

This ‘fakes’ issue certainly does not help to change people’s perceptions about Chinese people. Lastly, (ehem, to save my sorry arse I need to have some sort of disclaimer, seeing so many off topic comments at other blogs writing on this issue) before you blast me for highlighting only the negative things about the opening ceremony and brand me as an anti China bastard, think again.

I acknowledged the great, spectacular and stunning feats by many performers during the opening ceremony especially the part where Li Ning ‘running’ across the CGI scroll to light the Olympic flame. I was stunned, totally impressed when they showed suspended performers ‘running across the continents on the globe’ and of course, the beautifully choreographed dances.

But, this post is specially done to highlight China’s hypocrisy on the ‘fakes issue’ and not to write a summary on positive and negative things about China, or to present a balanced view on China. Neither that I am writing to impress you.

Bees, Disasters and TDM

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008 1,727 views

A long post. Skip if you are a lazy reader.

I have a lot of things running in my mind right now. I am exhausted. Tired. For the past few days I did a lot of thinking, messing with my flabby, flaccid brain. No I am not quitting this blog like NoktahHitam hahahahaha! (He’s back with vengeance anyway) Some of things are too personal; I feel it should stay that way.

Oh, something weird just happened. There were lots of bees flying outside the office. No idea where they came from and why they were here. What you think the bees were doing? I read somewhere on the internet on frogs and cockroaches ‘running away’ from the area before the earthquake happened. (Now suddenly Hoobastank’s Running Away and Crawling in the Dark are playing in my skull.. :???:) I managed to take some photos. Now imagine the bees swarming your body.. and feast on it.

Attack of the Bees!

So why are you running away?

Why are you running away?

Can’t really see.. but check out the ‘black dots..’

I’ve been crawling in the dark looking for the answer

So many things happened in this month – May. Disasters like in Myammar and Sichuan, China. Yesterday earthquakes detected in Sumatra, previous day in Sabah??! Last night I heard they experienced tremors in OUG, Puchong, Cheras areas?

We are lucky a lot. Malaysia do not have any natural disaster happening so far (yet) except for the tsunami that happened in 2004. Even then we realized that this nation is no where ready to cope with an emergency resulted from a big scale calamities. Just read on the internet how schools in China crumbling down like pieces of Lego structures because of the alleged shoddy works and sub-standard materials used for the buildings.

Being in the construction industry myself and having many friends in this field working in construction firms – some as design engineer in consultancy companies, supervisors or engineers on site for contractors companies, we get to know many things happening in the industry and I can tell you it is not very good and sometimes scary to know/hear.

I think many Malaysians should aware of the standard of works in Malaysia where it is an open secret that corruption is rampant in this industry. Things can be ’settled’, what you built on site can be tweaked to suit your pockets and gullible clueless buyers will never find out. Things are built without exactly following the specifications and drawings, the list goes on and on. I had a gathering with bunch of friends last Saturday (my coursemates) and we talked about this and from the feedbacks, Malaysians are really lucky considering our structures are not really put to test :) So the con-men can sleep soundly at night, counting the money they stolen from the people. Yes, we laughed about it. Ha! Ha! Ha! When you still can laugh about it.. why not?

Then we have political surprises like Tun Mahathir quiting Umno. Umno is going to self destruct anyway, (playing Mission Impossible self destruct message..) so we shall let them shoot themselves to death and we watch from afar. Mahathir is not the first ex-president of Umno to quit Umno. As we are all aware, Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tun Hussein Onn both died as non-Umno members. Only Tun Razak I think was still a member of Umno when he died. So, to some extent, it is quite a trend for ex-Umno presidents to quit Umno for one reason or another.

I extremely disappointed with TDM for what he said in Johor. Malaysians are sick and tired of race-based politics and we need to move on to people-based politics

Yes, many respect the old man. I respect him, personally. Then again, I think we should not be blind to what he did to this country, we paid a heavy price for the ‘developments’ he brought to Malaysia. This lady said it best, I quoted from Malaysiakini:

Dian Abdullah: Dr M, you have brought many developments to this country which I believe will give you a prominent place in the history of Malaysia. But I would like to point out along the way, you have forgotten the people who helped you to rule this country for 22 years. That’s right – we the people, citizens, all born here. You instigated racial disharmony and widened the gap for inter-religion understanding. You created an elite of corrupted and arrogant group that brought injustice to our everyday lives which have affected us greatly.

You belittled us and the sultans in whatever way possible to satisfy your lust for power and money. You controlled us like slaves and the voiceless without any rights to our freedom of speech and actions. Your actions also provoked Bapa Merdeka and Hussein Onn to resign and die outside Umno.

Now you have to lower yourself to accept your karma. There is absolutely no way you can enter Umno again. These monsters you created are the very same ones you moulded and placed in power. Now they are returning your kind deeds. If you can remember, when Bapa Merdeka and Hussein Onn resigned, Umno did not blink much. So who do you think you are that you can bring Umno down? Umno will cease to exist only when the middle and lower-class people decide enough is enough. Najib will be the last straw because that is his destiny.

So before anyone of you remind me of how many towers he built, how many race tracks, airports, how long, how tall, how big things he built please remember that

1. He used ISA like toilet paper when he’s in power.

2. He stifled the voice of educated masses. Remember AUKU? Aku Janji crap? Operasi Lalang?

3. He coined the Ketuanan Melayu crap. He made the Malays believe that who believed that the whole world was against the Malay race. Is there such a thing? He did no good to the race relations. He is solely responsible for making Umno a racist, bigoted party it is now.

4. He is a racist mustard. Now he is doing it again. His remarks in Johor on Saturday that Malays stood to lose much in the new political environment where non-Malays were unafraid to make demands. Dr Mahathir told the crowd of some 1,000 in Johor Baru that if Malays keep quiet they will lose their rights and other races will take over. What he is trying to do? What happened to his Bangsa Malaysia and Vision 2020 crap? It is utterly irresponsible for him to make those racist statement in Johor and once again, this is the kind of rhetoric Malaysians of all creed and color voted against in the last general elections.

5. He manipulated the judiciary, now proven by the Royal Commission of Inquiry on Lingam tape. He himself mentioned the judges lobbied for positions. Isn’t that illegal?

6. The list is long!!

So, just because he’s trying to portray himself as a hero now, please do not be so gullible to trust the old man. He is too smart, shrewd and cunning to do things selflessly. Sit back and think, what he will gain by doing all this shits. There’s more to this than meets the eye. I am not telling

ps: Karma is a funny thing. It has its way to get back at you. Be very careful. Karma is a bitch. Definitely.

pss: I love this song very much. I want to make love in the club. Anyone? :XO: :XO:
