First time getting pimped by The Star, together with other Sarawakian bloggers like Kenny Sia, Dine with Annna – Anna Bella Wong , Mum-mum: Eat Eat – Rowena Tan, Sixthseal – Huai Bin and Lolly Raja, founder of Kelabit Wiki Project.
Although no mention of my blog name and address in the paper version, (The Star later includes it in the online version), I was quoted in few paragraphs (very politically correct one). Let me quote one for you guys:
“I am a proud Sarawakian. Sarawak has so much to share with the people out there and I feel obliged to share all the good and bad things about this place so people can learn, gain or make something out of it.“
And they put up my handsome face HAHA! (Thank you Ras, gambar diambik ko juak dipake aku hahah!) Let’s hope #yorais doesn’t read today’s paper. Oh ya, I bought my The Star paper today, after not doing so for so long. Ehem, you know why I don’t buy The Star all this while hehehe 
So, grab a copy of The Star today, because I am in it! Star Two pullout, pg 2 and pg. 3. Just don’t read too much on the news inside the Nation pullout eg. Umno’s doors ‘never shut’

It was a normal routine, me poking fun at political dinosaurs, weird-stupid-ridiculous statements and news happening in Malaysia…
Just like the other day, I was tweeting away on #themissingrmafengine, #bendera, #hamsoR, #BImoviesinBM, #dinorais, #easilyconfused, #jibby, #macha etc. There are few regulars who would contribute to the ‘topic of the day’ – @kavilan, @anthraxxxx, @Asohan, @CKGord, @Aisehman, @stephendoss, @altimet, @victorliew, @plenteh – just to name few. What else to keep us entertained on any boring working day but some good laughs, right? Let’s worry about the work productivity later..

Rais Yatim has been consistently making headlines for the wrong reasons and his recent remark on social medias – Facebook and Twitter is just too juicy to bite on. Malaysian tweeple have been tweeting about Rais Yatim and his culturedly ancient views for the past few days, and #dinorais was used to refer to tweets about him.
Well, probably it was not catchy enough but yesterday, after I sent out a tweet with the hashtag #yorais, Malaysian tweeple went amok and the rest is history.

“Why don’t you write more about yourself in your blog? Your political craps really boring. “
Or they would say something along the line:
“I love to read things about you. You should write more about yourself. Especially posts about you growing up as a kid, memories and life when you were in school, your everyday’s life, your job. I find those personal posts more interesting. “
Or they would say.
“Your blog sucks donkey’s cock. “
Or they would say nothing at all.
“………..”
Well, I can’t do much about my blog sucking donkey’s cock so as long as the donkey is happy I’m happy. You can take the donkey’s place if you want to be happy.
I can’t do much about silent readers also, I can only go “………..”
For those who love reading my posts minus those ‘controversial-longwinded-boring-political’ craps, well thank you. That’s very nice. Em, and I have an ‘excuse’ why I don’t write those posts that you “love a lot” very often. I also can think of a reason why people love to read such posts.
I’m not an exhibitionist. I am more to a narcissist.
Exhibitionist. Ehem, I’m not talking about bodily exposure to get some kind of sexual gratification (ha! I know you googled for it! ), but more on the act to exhibit own’s personal life so as to attract attention, in this case writing about it in your blog. To put it in a crude way, attention seeker. ROTFLMAO!
An exhibitionist blogger loves to show off share his personal life with his readers. Think of actors. Or singers. An exhibitionist is a performer. It is about putting something out for others to see or appreciate. Nothing is wrong with that.
You can write about the food you just ate, what your boyfriend/girlfriend did to you last night, your new makeup, your new shoes, your flirtatious moment with the girl you met in LRT and many more personal stuffs and rest assured, that’s perfectly fine. I do that from time to time. So, yes please continue with your style. *making random gestures*
Narcissist. That’s self love. Don’t confuse narcissist with exhibitionist. A narcisssist loves himself (or things about himself) more than anyone (or anything) else. He doesn’t feel the need to get acknowledged by anyone for things he did, (in this case, the posts he wrote), it’s good enough if he himself is happy with the result. It is for self satisfaction. Think of masturbation, yes. You will get the concept.
Blog readers who love personal posts are voyeurs.
I always suspect blog readers who love personal blogs are into some kind voyeurism. The need to know more about someone, what he ate for lunch, where he went to during the weekend, who he’s dating now, what handbag she’s using etc. It is like getting kick from spying on people’s life. In this case, you don’t have to spy, it’s there for you to see. Exhibitionists complement voyeurs perfectly.
Actually, I want to write more about this blogger vs reader thing. But the clock is ticking closer to 5pm and being a punctual employee I must leave on the dot. We’ll talk about this again, depending on the response. *wink!* See ya!
ps: I can’t believe I came up with such crap. If you don’t understand this post, it’s okay. Me neither. *shrugs*

Rais warns of legal action against errant private groups and bloggers

KUALA LUMPUR: The Information, Communications, Culture and Arts Ministry will use a “diplomatic approach” in dealing with private media corporations and bloggers.
Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said the ministry preferred to take follow-up efforts than legal action against those who have violated the laws.
He said they, however, have to act against the hardcore perpetrators.
“Those who have broken the laws have to face legal action. If we do not act on them, it is the fault of the administration.
“But I stress that using legal action will be our last resort,” he said.
He told reporters this yesterday after taking over duties from Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek, who has been appointed Youth and Sports Minister.
Dr Rais, who is the former foreign minister, said he would study the current circumstances and find ways to work closer with private media groups and bloggers.
For this, he said a seminar on the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission Act 1998 would be organised for journalists and bloggers.
The seminar will enable them to know the dos and don’ts under the acts, he said.
He said combining information and communications under one ministry would enable better efforts in enforcing the two laws.
“We want them to know that we have to take action if something happens,” he said, adding that the Bar Council would be invited to help organise the event.
Dr Rais also called on the private broadcast media stations to be pro-active in helping to develop the society and country.
He said some private television and radio stations had failed to adhere to laws that required them to play patriotic songs.
“Most of them are more concerned in making profit,” he said.
Dr Rais, who was the information minister from 1984 to 1986, said he would look into the contents of programmes provided by RTM and do the necessary rescheduling to attract more young viewers.
1. I am so afraid right now. But, wait… does any of my articles/posts break any law? I doubt so.
2. Calling stupid ministers as it is – STUPID, is that breaking the law? No I guess. Writing about discrepancies in government policies, irresponsible remarks by our politicians, quoting their moronic statements, insulting these gibbering numbskulls and ridiculing their mental capacity is breaking the laws? I doubt so.
3. Writing to share your own opinions on socio-political affairs and provides a platform for discussions of similar and dissenting views on current affairs and interests is against the laws? I doubt so.
4. Those who have broken the laws have to face legal action.
Nothing is wrong with the statement. But, this statement should apply to all Malaysians, not only certain groups of people, which described in the above news article as ‘private groups and bloggers’. Please do not apply the laws selectively. When you do this, you lose the last remnant of credibility and don’t cry wolf when people start questioning you. Hypocrites are not the most pleasant people to tolerate and live with.
So you are right when you mentioned “If we do not act on them, it is the fault of the administration.” Can you blame people for making noises when actions not taken against the perpetrators strolling along the corridors of power? When they see blatant display of injustice in front of their eyes. Give Malaysians some credits they deserve, not all are cluelessly submissive as you hope they would be.
5. That said, it’s a matter of saying what we want to say and how we say it. It is possible to write a fierce critism without pissing off the people you are criticising, but it takes a certain command of writing so pardon my limited vocabulary for not being articulate enough.
Nothing to fear people. What Mr. Minister above is trying to do is to instil fear. Politics of fear no longer work as FEAR is an acronym of False Evidence Appearing Real. 
and we are here to debunk the myths and baseless fears.
The Force is strong.
ps: Patriotic songs? To instill patriotism? What, are we living in the eighties? USSR already collapsed lah bro. You want patriotism to flourish among the citizens, make them feel being part of the country, being accepted without prejudice.
