Roast Duck Rice at Sunrise, Taman Paramount

I went to Taman Paramount to eat roast duck rice yesterday with housemates and friends. I went there once, not a fan of duck meat but since it is another makan-makan session I happily joined them :D The shop name is ‘Sunrise’ (what a name!). If you come from SS2, Mobil petrol station on your right, take the left turn at the traffic light. Go straight to the end of the road to till you reach the traffic light and you will see a Shell petrol station on your right, make a right. At the next traffic light, you will see a KFC outlet on your right, turn right. The shop is along the shop lots in front of the KFC outlet. (Pheww.. hard to give directions in words..)

Inilah kedai itik itu…where you can jadi itik eat itik.. – photo taken from http:/kyspeaks.com

Waiting for the food

We ordered 1 and ½ duck

Look at the perfect dark golden brown color crispy duck skin and the soft, tender meat. Sinfully fattening!

Another photo..

You can order extra skin if you love to eat the duck skin (I don’t..)

The duck meat taste is okay, tender and soft and you do not get this pungent smell normally associated with duck dish. I just think the sauce that comes with the roast duck taste like crap. Maybe they just put soya sauce, added with water and that’s it, no signature duck rice taste where you normally get at other duck rice shop. The dish also comes with a bowl of soup. I have no idea what is the soup. I took a taste – too sour-ish, a bit sweet, and salty?? WTF is that? I didn’t bother to drink it, the taste just bit out of the world.. haha!

Last, a photo of me camwhored. Er, I forgot to take photo eating roast duck rice, but this will do haha! Taken when dating Mary and Alice last Wednesday night *wink wink! I am one lucky monk! :P

Hunchback of Notre Dame?? Mary took this when I was having my drink and I looked up, hence the weird pose? ROTFLMAO!

p/s : One question, duck consider an animal that live both on land and in water not? I heard Muslims do not eat duck. But duck is not really living in the water and on land like crocodile and frog? (rephrased after i mentioned crocodile is amphibian hahahaha! dumb me!)

cocodile is reptilia la… and anyway, duck belongs to birdie family… muslim do makan duck, just that they find ducks are dirty, as ducks like to sudu around the wet area for food, particularly near the toilet… as in kampung house lar… in Indo, duck eggs are replacement for chicken eggs. while, bebek (duck) goreng, tim and others are their favorites…

–> er, kerbau, lembu also main lumpur not dirty? :P joking lah! haha! yeah croc is reptile, i made a boo boo! there goes my science subject, down in the drain.

Roasted duck meat is one of my favourite dishes! I always go to these two places here in KK where I like to eat those yummy roasted duck. One in Wisma Merdeka and another at Jalan Pantai – just across the road from Wisma Merdeka hehe. I’ve tasted those with pungent smell and I almost puke!

Bongkersz, duck does not live both on land and in water. They live on land, but they jadi nelayan in the water like we do, or just swim around for leisure. :D So yes, muslims do eat duck meat ;)

–> those pungent smell one cannot eat lah! :D

There’s a hotel in that block too, named after a percious stone – Ruby, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl…can’t remember now!

And those driving from Kuching to Sibu, there’s a town on the way called Lanjaow or something (Ooit! Ooit!! I’m not using foul language!) where they sell delicious kolok mee with lor-duck!!! Yummy!! Gosh! Better stop talking about food, I’m drooling liao!

Ooit! Ooit! Don’t spoil my good repution (Wakakakaka!!!), ya! Schools in Ranau invited me to give a talk on how to excel in SPM English…so I flew to KK Friday, arrived around 9 p.m. and they arranged for me to spend the nite in that hotel…and next day, we drove to Ranau…and I came back that nite, and Sunday morning, I flew home oredi! Used to do that a lot…but I stayed in that hotel only once. Depends on how generous the school/schools! As far as Sandakan (3 or 4 times) and Tawau (once)!
