“Political integrity” = oxymoron

I am seriously sick and disgusted!! Why? Have you read the political news lately? I believe nobody will disagree with me when I say our political leaders and their party machinery are in the state of paranoia and getting more obsessed with power grabbing.

Our country, heck the whole world is facing a critical time and instead of moving the nation ahead in these turbulent economic times, these maggots are busy politicking!!

Meanwhile, the state was still rife with speculation that crossover talks had intensified.

Sources said that Barisan Nasional was wooing three more Pakatan elected representatives and in return Pakatan was targeting two Barisan assemblymen.

We are screwed. You know you are screwed when for example, politicians blaming the weather as the cause for every ‘natural disasters’ or things that happpened. (Act of God, anyone?) Flood can be mitigated, landslide can be prevented, so stop classifying it as natural disasters.

What? With our current advancement of technology, we are still clueless how to prevent such ‘man-made’ disasters? You cannot accept the explanation that it is a natural disaster when it is an occuring affair, repeating every week, month or year. That is NEGLIGENCE! Something must be wrong somewhere!

No thank you. We do not want to see you making appearance everytime with your crews posing for photo shoot to show you care. Building image? Party image? It is dumb founding to think these people care more about their image than serving the PEOPLE! For them, it is about about image and presentation.

Biar bergaya, ada rupa. Gaya lebih!

Its been almost a year after the March 08 General Election, we are still not sure if those won have got down doing the job or still busy defending their post or power. What happened to the many promises before you ‘elevate’ your status as ‘government servant’ which translates to serving us, the rakyat? Below is a comment I extracted Facebook, written by a concerned citizen.  I especially love his analogy of ‘a garbage collector vs a politician’.

MPs and heads of political parties should forget about building the image of the party as this or that and focus on serving their constituents responsibly and with integrity. Where is the effort in that? I am not seeing it. Instead all the bluster is about image and presentation.

Dudes and dudettes, you are serving us. You are not in power. There is a huge difference between the two. Do I care how the garbage man looks as long as he takes the trash away? But you know what? I actually smile when I see them, chat with them, try to dispose my garbage more responsibly to make their work easier and also occasionally I give them a drink of water or juice or even goodies. They do a brilliant job and I respect and thank them for it.

Do the same you politicos. Serve. Us. The image of getting that right is, these people work. They get things right. They meet my needs and aspirations. They have my vote. There! A simple and cheap and effective image builder. The truth!

You are not serving us! You are busy building your political career, going amok power crazy! Yes, please keep distracting us from the real problems because we love to see free political dramas. All this free and exciting political charades is the perfect entertainment for the rakyat. Oh we so love it! Gimme more you effing morons!

ps: Malaysian politicians successfully turn ‘political intergrity’ into like an oxymoron, really. Politics know no intergrity, perhaps.

pss: Latest update – 3/2: SPR putuskan Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi (PKR-Behrang) & Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu (PKR-Changkat Jering) masih sandang jawatan ADUN Perak/BERNAMA.
