Nakpe kate ko ye…

You guys probably watched Bee End Downfall Parody already. Little that I know some UNIMAS students made a parody of Sembilu 2005 before. (Or so they claimed) Damn this video is hillarious! Well, provided you understand the language. It is in Bahasa Melayu Sarawak.

Let me teach you some of the words in Bahasa Melayu Sarawak, so you can put it to good use later. Just that day Aeropama and Noktah Hitam said they had no freaking idea what Nono and I were talking about in the comment box when we started to chat in Bahasa Sarawak.

Auk
Auk means “yes” to acknowledge. The usage is the same as the more popular “ya”.

Kamek & Kitak
Kamek means “me” or “I”. It can also be used to represent “us”. Kitak means “you”.  For example: Kamek maok jadi gerek kitak – I want to be your slave.

Kelak & Dudi
Kelak means “later”, and Dudi is “much later”. Example of usage: I’ll come later – Kelak kamek datang.

Kenja
Other variations are “miang” or “gatal” in Malay or ‘pervert’. Example of usage: Kenja juak Lochoe tok.

Mun
Mun means “if”. Example of usage: “If he/she comes” would be “mun nya datang”…

Sine
“Sine” is pronounce as “See-Neh”. It means “where”. For example, “Sine kitak tek?” refers to “Where were you just now?”

Tok
It means “this”. For example, “What is this?” would be “Apa tok?”

Sik
It means ‘do not’. For example, “I don’t want” would be “Kamek sik maok”

Biak
It means “young”. Example of usage: “Nya agik biak”. – He/She is still young.

Nembiak
It is used to refer “that person”, in an unfriendly way (slang; not literally means young person), equivalent to ‘bugger’ or ‘fella’. Example of usage: “Nembiak ya eksen gilak!” – That bugger is a show off!

I decided that listing out all the words and explaining them would be too time consuming, so I googled it out, who knows there were some posts on this. I found one! Here you go..

susah la… jauh lari tatabahasa.. contoh aku dengar kitak tu macam “kita”, can refer as me, but sebenarnya maksud “you” , kamek pula maksud “i”, aku ingatkan kamu selama ni (teringat roomate aku hillary yang ntah dah melata kat mana)..

jauh la lari tatabahasa.. xde bunyi melayu lansung..
