PUTRAJAYA: The Election Commission has cancelled the use of indelible ink in polling this Saturday, citing public order and security reasons.
Its chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman said following a meeting held Tuesday, the EC was obliged to make a firm and final decision to ensure the smooth conduct of the 12th general election.
He said provisions to the law needed if the ink was to be used still could not affect the constitutional right of a voter to cast his vote, even a person whose fingernail had been marked with indelible ink or one who refuses to have his or her fingernail marked this way.
“From a practical point of view, the issuance of a ballot paper to such a voter would render the EC’s proposal meaningless and will not bring about a positive result, whilst having the potential to create misunderstanding as well as altercations and arguments at polling stations,” he said.
The Federal Constitution gives you the right to vote, and a black mark on your fingernail should not bar you from exercising this right, he said.
Abdul Rashid said there were also reports made to the police confirming that certain irresponsible quarters had purchased indelible ink from abroad with the intention of creating confusion and suspicion as to the status of voters.
“The EC views these issues seriously as the election process and public order and security cannot be compromised,” he said.
The use of indelible ink was first proposed last June to safeguard against multiple or phantom voting. Abdul Rashid then said that the system would be subject to amendments to the Election (Conduct of Election) Regulation 1981.
He said indelible ink had been chosen over other measures, such as a biometric system working off the MyKad (chip-based identity card carried by all Malaysians above the age of 12) because such such smartcard readers would have cost about RM60,000 each, and every voting stream would have to be equipped with one. Using such a system would have cost in excess of RM30mil. The commission bought about 47,000 bottles of the indelible ink, manufactured in India, for RM2mil.
“citing public order and security reasons.”
Another 2 million gone into the drain! What public order and security reasons??! Bullshits!! Security my ass!! How this is a security problem? Somebody please whack this bastard for me. If I see him around I will shove some inks down his ass!! Would using indelible ink cause us to be terrorist?? Or would we suddenly fall sick and die? Maybe people will see indelible ink on one’s finger and become stone? How is it ever going to jeopardize national security????????? Can someone give any reasons please?
“irresponsible quarters had purchased indelible ink from abroad with the intention of creating confusion and suspicion as to the status of voters”
Then it should be the duty and responsibility of the police and EC duty to ensure that such thing will not happen during election day! But, how to create confusion? Why there are people want to buy the stupid ink, spending so much money and waste it? I believe the opposition do not have the money to do so. If they have the money, they will never go around asking and pleading for donation. The opposition is dirt poor. I have seen it with my eyes. They have nothing!! Their operation room is so pathetic you would want to cry when you see it. So, that leave us with only one party, none other but the mighty rich Barisan Nasional??!!! What are they afraid of?
First, EC announced that instead of counting the parliamentary and state ballot papers separately, this time it will be done simultaneously. Means what? The opposition parties which are lacking of manpower will be at the losing end, for now they need 2 counting agents instead of 1. For Barisan Nasional, with their deep pocket they can get any sohai to do the counting job for them. It is already very tough for the opposition to get volunteers to be their polling and counting agents, with this new ruling, EC purposely put the opposition in a difficult position! (Nevermind if you do not understand this, I do not expect dumbass to understand this either, yes.. you waggawagga if you read this!!)
I do not understand how some quarters would like to buy the ink, well if yes then what they can do with it? Apply on themselves so they cannot go in and vote? That is so dumb!! He really thinks we Malaysians are that stupid?!! This is power abuse!! Cilaka this Abdul Rashid! I hope this son of a bitch rots in hell for doing this!! What a crying shame. I am utterly disgusted. Our election process is a f**king joke!!

A!&*(S(*@S#*(H&)!&O()L*E@&^#!!!! Check this out. Look carefully at the name and compare the Identity Card number and the gender of the card holder.

I.C No. : 841027075229, Name : Tan Shin Joo, Gender : Male

I.C No. : 841027075229, Name : V. Nalynna A/P Visvanathan Gender : Female
From the Identity Card No., the last digit denotes the gender of the card holder. From wiki :
“Odd number in the last digit usually indicates the card holder being male, and even numbers for female.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MyKad)
So, the driving license and the school card (I assume, I can’t read Chinese, I only know the word ‘zhong’ there haha!) is belong to a male person and that is true according to the last digit of the Identity Card No. Now, the electoral roll from I got SPR website for that particular number is for an Indian lady??!! A/P = Anak Perempuan (Daughter of) How screwed up is our electoral roll?

I detest The Star very much for its very bias reporting. I love the Sports and Business sections. I just cannot stand the way The Star portray our good government in a very ass kissing way. Go and flip over The Star newspaper for the past few days. They never write anything else but the goodness of Barisan Nasional. I wonder, The Star is here to report the news or to shove down their opinions down our throats?
With the election at the corner, The Star has continue to become a mouthpiece for Barisan National, publishing one sided news. Where are the ethics of journalism? Fark you The Star. I shall never buy any of your craps anymore. I will read it online or borrow it at mamak stall, but I will never buy it. Not worth my RM1.20 to read all the bombastic craps you serve everyday. Same shits, different day. I guess not only me with this feeling against The Star, check out this letter :
Manager,
Editors
and staff of the
Star Publications (M) Bhd
C:C to all Contacts. 28/2/08
IS STAR PUBLICATION A SHARE HOLDER OF BARISAN NASIONAL?
Dear publisher,
With much regret and disappointment over the star publication i am writing this letter.
I strongly condemn and object all your articles in the star the pass few days. Very clearly i can see that your articles on the coming general election is giving a one sight report and supporting the barisan Nasional Government. I view this as something not healthy and a threat to the future of the the media.
You use the caption MALAYSIA DECIDES 2008 in your General election report. How to decide when you don’t even give a report on the opposition party. Lim Kit Siang, Anwar Ibrahim and other oppositions gave many ceramah`s in penang, But i don’t see any detail or article on that events. and even if i had see, It would be a negative report on that party. What kind of practice is this in a democratic country ? We as the rakyat and reader of the star expects and demand equal coverage and news on all parties in the general election. Yes it`s good to tell the nation what the barisan has done for it`s people and the development it has brought to this country, at the same time it is also important to hear from the opposition their views and vision for the country. Whether they are giving empty promises, or lying, it is for the rakyat to decide. Not for the government or for your publication to decide or come to an conclusion.
In your publication today 28/2/07 page N 11, there is an advertisement from MIC. What kind of advertisement is that. Is MIC trying to instill fear in the nation and getting votes by threatening us. It say`s IF YOU DON’T VOTE FOR MIC THEN BE PREPARED TO PAY THE PRICE…. What the hell does MIC mean by that. That statement has already breach the election campaign law which prohibits nominee’s from threatening the voters. I see only Barisan Nasional `s advertisement in the star.. Aren`t there any other parties contesting in this coming general election? Every single day i see so many full page BN advertisement, Have they not yet exceeded the campaign budget limit approved by the election commission for all parties. I know how many thousands it cost for a single page advertisement in The Star. Or is the star sponsoring the pages for BN… If yes, then why is the star not sponsoring also for DAP, KEADILAN and PAS. There are also readers whom support the opposition as much as the readers whom supports BN. This is such and insult to all readers of the Star. We give you business and you pay us back in this way ?
When reporting on news which refers to Dato seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Datuk seri Najib Tun Razak, your publication refers them as the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia . Has your editors forget that the Parliament has been dissolved. What right do you all have then to officially call both this people current ministers of Malaysia . Aren’t` you all then giving false information to the readers.
I send this email as and warning to the Star Publication to give and equal coverage to all parties on the General Election. It`s is also a call from the Election Commission President of Malaysia to give and equal and fair coverage to all parties. If your company were to still publish report on a one sight view after reading this email, I am going to launch a boycott on the star publication and urge penang people not to buy the Star. I will go all out for it using my contacts and influences and make sure people do not buy the Star. There are alternative paper like the SUN which provides equal news to the nation. Why then spent more to buy news which is not fair and equal to all. I hope this is the start for a change in the way your reports are being published. Let the Nation decide, and dont fool your readers.

The more you dig, the more shits you get. Why? Well, because I got NTBD (nothing better to do), I did a google search on ‘phantom voters’. It seems like many bloggers already blogged about this issue before. (Well I pimped my previous post from another blogger as well.) But note this, most of them blogged about this before this announcement came out. From The Star Online :
Wednesday January 9, 2008
EC : Electoral roll all clean now
“KOTA KINABALU: The Election Commission is confident that the electoral roll is now free of dubious voters.
Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Abdul Rashid said his office had deleted from the rolls thousands of names of non-citizens and people who had died.
Detailed cross-checking of voters’ names with the National Registration Department should result in “phantom voters” being removed from the rolls, he said after opening a two-day briefing here for civil servants involved in assisting in the next general election. ”
Read more here.
Kickdefella blogged about phantom voters here on November 30, 2007. Another blogger also blogged about it here (he/she sourced it from Kickdefella).
So on January 9th, 2008, EC Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Abdul Rashid confidently said EC already cleaned up the electoral. Should we believe him? I cross-checked the names listed in the post by Kickdefella with the latest electoral (gazetted on 5th February 2008), and I got this :

91 years old?

92 years old!

103 years old! (We are so close to break Guiness World Record, for world’s oldest person alive now is now 114 years old and the world’s longest ever living person at 122 years old)
Out of the five dubious voters previously listed in Kickdefella’s blog, three of them still appeared in the electoral roll! Well, maybe they just age gracefully, and still kicking ass, ready to vote for the next coming election! Just give our very efficient, clean, fair and transparent Election Commision the benefit of doubt, shall we?
So, voters that will vote at Sekolah Kebangsaan Khir Johari (Bakar Arang, Sungai Petani), Maktab Sultan Abu Bakar (Rinting, Johor) and Sekolah Kebangsaan Pasir Gudang 2 (Permas, Pasir Gudang) please watch out for these geriatrics ya!
Biar tua, selagi nyawa dikandung badan, kita akan tetap mengundi!!!! (Age is not a problem, if still alive, we will still vote!!!) Shame on you young people that will not vote this coming election out there!! ROFLMAO!!
Updated 21/02/2008 10.50pm :
Hamzah, this is special for you. Send my regards to your grandfather by the way. Good to know he is still strong and kicking! Semoga Tuhan panjangkan lagi umurnya

Born in 1896, now should be 112 years old. Get his ass ready in line for the Guiness Book of Record next world’s oldest person.

Dear Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Hj. Ab. Rashid Bin Ab. Rahman,
You as Chairman Election Commission of Malaysia, please explain this.

1. Vote in TUDM Butterworth as postal vote.

2. Then go back to Tumpat, Kelantan to vote again! Hurray!!!!!
Same name, same year of birth, same father’s name but different voting place? So he vote through postal vote and the vote will be sent to Tasik Gelugor, Pulau Pinang and then make a trip to go back to Tumpat, Kelantan to vote again? How fantastic!! Malaysia Truly Asia, Malaysia Boleh!
Updated 5.04pm :
I did a search to see if anybody posted on this before. Interesting, I found this blog here. I grabbed the photo from the site for all to see.

Okay, now if you see both pictures, the pictures I posted earlier I captured today from the latest SPR electoral roll website. It is in the latest format used by SPR to show the voter’s details. Then, the pictures above were captured sometime last year, and the details of the voter were shown in an older format. Do you notice that, comparing the latest format and and previous one, what is the difference? Yes! In the old format, SPR put ‘Tarikh Lahir’ but in the latest format only ‘Tahun Lahir’ is shown!!
Why SPR do this? (Change of format). I can only think of one reason. Say if anybody arguing on the identity of the voter using the current format, SPR easily can say ‘Well, maybe there are two different persons with same name but born in the same year. Possible right?’ But, referring to the old format, it it very unlikely for a person with the same name will be born on the very same day at two different locations??? Now, that’s Malaysia for you.
