Cibol was here during the weekend, attending a friend’s wedding. So we met up at Rasa Rasa. I was supposed to pick him up at the airport but somehow my Celcom line kaput-ed that Sunday morning. Up #yorais, Celcom! So, he couldn’t reach him, vice versa.
Another friend of ours, Celestine went to pick him up instead. He joined us.. er, wait, I joined them for breakfast. Celestine was with his wife and his very cute little girl, Larissa. I couldn’t resist to cuddle her. Wah.. the paternal instinct was kicking in! LOL!
Deymm, most of my friends are married with kids now. Or planning to get married soon. In fact, I am going to Miri few days after Chinese New Year for a friend’s wedding! I am thinking to drive back Sarikei tomorrow or Thursday for the Chinese New Year holiday. You guys out there, drive carefully and be safe!

I’m sorry I didn’t extend my Raya greeting earlier but Raya is for the whole month of Syawal and today is only the 4th day of Raya, right? I just came back from a long weekend at my hometown, Sarikei. I went back on Thursday morning with Goolooloo tagging along. She was dropping by Sibu to see her beloved boyfriend.
We started our ‘balik kampung’ journey at 6am, reached Sibu around 11am. The road was pretty clear so I had the road all for myself, all the way up. That explained the 5 hours drive from Miri-Sibu. I stopped for lunch in Sibu before continuing my journey to Sarikei.
I spent my time in Sarikei like how I normally do it when I’m back home. Pigging on food, (my puasa effort during the fasting month went down the drain), watching tv and meeting some friends.
Oh, I met up with Alice’s bro in Sarikei. It was kinda funny. I was having my kampua at Hiek Lik Cafe when I saw a familiar looking guy came in with a red helmet on his hand, sat down across me and ordered what else but kampua.

I didn’t go and greet the guy because I was unsure and there wasn’t any telling sign that the guy would know me. So, I gobbled down my tasty kampua and went back home. When I checked my Facebook status:

He gave me his phone number and we met for breakfast cum lunch at Glory Cafe the next day. Hey nice meeting you mate! All the best for your future undertakings! *wink!*

ps: I am taking a short break from blogging during this Raya holiday and I will back in my hometown, Sarikei. After Raya holiday, I will need to pack my things and go back to KL again. Work assignment in Kuching has come to an end, so this holiday I will make sure I eat enough Mee Kolok, Laksa Sarawak, Kampua and other Sarawak delicacies for me to last long enough in KL without craving and of course, to spend more time with my loved ones – family, friends, girlfriend. Adios people!
Today is the Valentine’s Day. Well, I think it is overrated, too commercialised and I refused to be sucked into celebrating it. (Actually nobody here with me to celebrate it sob.. sob..) Everything is super expensive, hotels and restaurants dishing out promotions at inflated prices, florists make their big buck and 7-11 selling condoms like crazy on this day??? LOL!
I mentioned before I enjoy cooking. Maybe if my partner is around, I will prepare the most special dish for her, follow by great humping session for the rest of the night. Oh yeah!!! LOL! Why need to spend so much outside when you can have your own candlelight dinner at home?
Er, I am not cooking anything special for today because if I will only end up stuffing myself full But I just want to share some photos I took during CNY. (Again! Still in CNY mood mah! About to enter election mood soon ) These are the food I prepared when staying with my friend, simple dishes that I normally do when I have the time to do it.
Here in KL being alone, I do not have the desire to cook things except for occasional fried rice or fried noodle. Nobody appreciate your cooking if you are eating it alone hehe. It is best if you have friend eating together then you get to see the happy faces complimenting your food (if it is good) and not so happy but still buat buat happy faces complimenting your food (if it is bad…. ) haha!
