Where should I start? I don’t really know. I’m not very sure.
Our politicians are treating us like punching bags. We are receiving blows after blows, damaging us inside out to the point we are either half dead, paralysed and unable to respond or become immune to the situation that we no longer have any sense of feeling. We no longer care. We get disheartened.
Not all of us are fighters. Not many of us would fight back. Interestingly, many would just sit there or lie down obediently to receive these punches, citing the lack of resources to fight on equal ground as their reason.
Our politicians are bunch of sickos! Be it from Barisan Nincompoops or Pakatan Rakyat, they are the same, just the level or masochism differs. The pain they would inflict on us still hurt the same way.
Thursday July 9, 2009 Maths and Science back to Bahasa Malaysia(fuck you The Star, at the main page you put this title, but in the inside you changed it to a politically uptight title “It is Bahasa again but more emphasis will be placed on learning English“. Do you need to put that BUT in the title? Lapdog!)
PUTRAJAYA: The Government has decided to reverse the Teaching of Mathematics and Science in English policy and revert to Bahasa Malaysia in national schools and Chinese and Tamil in vernacular schools.
1st of all, fuck you Muhyiddin and other politicians alike.
Stop toying with our children. Pros or cons of this ‘new’ policy aside, what the hell politicians like you that knows shit about education and the hardship of the people at the receiving end, keep changing something of such importance, paramount to the development and the future of our younger generation like changing diapers? Fuck you.
Quote:
Based on studies conducted in 2008, he said, the ministry found that only a small percentage of teachers fully used English to teach the two subjects.
“On average, the percentage of those using English during Mathematics and Science periods was around 53% to 58%,” he said, adding that only a small number of teachers were proficient.
That is because every time the government make a new policy, it is done hastily without proper preparation and studies! Why the fuck these teachers don’t teach the subjects in English when they are tasked to do so?
“But it’s the Government’s responsibility to train and supply capable teachers. I’m confident that our teachers will be able to study and teach in English.”
I have written about this before, the actual problem is not the medium language used for teaching but quality of the teachers we have in my previous English or Bahasa Melayu for Science and Maths? where I opinionated for the implementation to be improved and not a complete U-turn of the policy.
Quote:
“But, since we already walked down the lane for the past 5 years, let’s keep it that way and stop flip flopping. it will do no good, this flip flop policies. Be firm. Bahasa Melayu or English? Stick with one.
That said, I am against the decision to gamble our students’ future again by changing it back to Bahasa Melayu. Keep using English as medium for Science and Maths. Just make necessary improvements to the current system. Making an U-turn and start again with a totally new policy, is a waste of time and stupid. Gradual changes to the continuing policies is acceptable, but abrupt change of policies should be avoided.“
And here we are, wasting our time and energy again for the sake of political survival? And hey! Don’t you love the timing of this policy announcement? At the dawn of a by election – Manik Urai! Just dig the archives, I bet tons of new policies were announced during elections.
So save it, Muhyiddin. We don’t buy your crap about ‘the reason for the reversal in policy was due to objective considerations and not political ones.’ Why the need for you to stress this if it’s not relevant?
While I agree the proficiency and mastery of English language has nothing to do with learning it in Science and Mathematics, these two subjects – especially Science – rely heavily for information widely available in the medium of English. And fuck it, this country is just not ready to teach Science in English when it only translates all science terms directly (and lamely) from English or making senseless new word.
How are you going to translate those technical terms? I experienced first hand the difficulties to switch from Bahasa Melayu to English when I was in university, where most of the good reference books are in English. Bahasa Melayu technical books are basically just rip off of the original books. The lecturers would ask their students to refer to journals and references, which are written in English anyway.
Not to mention it would take YEARS to write/translate all the books on Science and Maths in Bahasa Melayu. After that the books would be obsolete. Every day, there is new research, explorations, new inventions and other introduced through hundreds of research papers. Do we have the right resources to interpret these materials into Bahasa Melayu? I am afraid not.
A pass in English is not necessary but with the latest change of policy the government would put more ‘efforts’ into improving the standard of the language as reflected in the headline ‘.. more emphasis would be placed on learning English’ so you don’t have to worry about declining standard of English among students nowadays. Trust the government to do the right thing, even when we are not happy with its decision!
Let’s move to bashing the hypocrites. I remember when Mahathir made the policy change to use English as the medium to teach Science and Mathematics, we also have such hoo haa hoo haa like now. And without fail, some kaki bodek fuckers would come out to LOUDLY lend their support, singing praises and glory – “Oh, it’s a wise move. We support bla bla we-love-to-kiss-smelly-asses la la la.” These lalang fuckers are the same people that are singing a different tune now.
PUTRAJAYA: Political groups have welcomed the move to revert the teaching of Mathematics and Science to Bahasa Malaysia.
I don’t have to name the political groups. Without reading the article, just by looking at the title I am sure MCA – Mou Chuntoi Association is one of them and yes, I was right. Dickless pussies. (Yeah, that term doesn’t make perfect sense). Note that you can always find perfect irony in their statements, just like what I posted on George Chan yesterday.
MCA information and communications bureau chief Lee Wei Kiat said the Government’s decision was in line with Unesco’s finding that students could learn the two subjects better in their mother tongue.
“For the past six years, many students were affected by the teaching of the two subjects in English and could not catch up.
“This announcement will ensure that our students are competitive in both subjects,” he said.
Lee said the Government’s policy change in 2003 was “a lesson to learn.”
“Many reports have shown that the Government was not prepared to implement such a policy. Because of that, we have lost so much money.
“Therefore, we hope the Government will thoroughly think over proposals for new policies to avoid making such mistakes,” he said.
Competitive in both subjects by learning it in Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin and Tamil. Right!
Samyvellu (MIC is Samyvellu, Samyvellu is MIC) of course would never miss out to give his opinion by consistently saying something stupid. Note the part where he said something about performance of students will improve WITH this decision (change to Bahasa Melayu) then “want more to be done to enhance the use of English in schools.”
MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said MIC agreed with the Cabinet decision.
He said the Tamil Schools Headmasters Council has asked for both subjects to be taught in Tamil.
“Lets hope the performance of students will improve with this decision. We want more to be done to enhance the use of English in schools,” he said.
Hey, Hishammuddin Hussein was saying something? Wasn’t he the one that come up with pretty statistics every time UPSR and PMR results were announced during his tenure as the Education Minister? He claimed cows and pigs to show the standards of English, Science and Mathematics are getting better each and every year? Of course he was serving a different master back then.
Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein was confident that a majority of the people would understand the Government’s decision if they looked at the reasons behind the move.
Hishammuddin, who was the former Education Minister, said it was impossible for the Government to expect everyone to receive the decision well.
“It is not a knee-jerk reaction as a result of political pressure,” he told a press conference here yesterday.
He said the ministry started to study the effects of teaching the two subjects in English during his time as Education Minister.
“We have been looking into the grouses raised for many months and even years,” he said.
Just google for the statistics released for the results of both subjects in public examinations – UPSR and PMR and you can be sure that this buggers is a pathological liar!
Still on hypocrites. While these buggers yapping about patriotism, Bahasa Melayu, mother tongue languages, national and vernacular schools and throwing every justifications they could think of, their children continue to get the best education possible, worth every money spent. The poor and under priviledged will continue to slug it in schools using the medium of instruction which the government had ‘objectively’ considered for them.
Ironically, what our politicians think is good for our students doesn’t seem to be good enough for them. To where our politicians sent their children to? Najib sent his kids to an International School and I am sure that school doesn’t use Bahasa Melayu in their teaching.
I quote a paragraph written by Farish A Noor in his Facebook Notes to illustrate this point.
Quote:
Secondly, one is struck by the most obvious observation that this policy has set back the process of development for scores of poor Malaysian children from every ethnic community, many of whom will remain in vernacular schools while the sons and daughters of the rich and powerful (many of them the brats of politicians, mind you) will probably be sent abroad to study in places like the United Kingdom, United States of America and Australia; where the medium of instruction will be in English. With one bold stroke, we have effectively opened a chasm between the rich and the poor, the privileged and the under-privileged, and in effect created two social classes. One made up of the poor lumpen proletariats who will be reduced to the status of surplus labour in the years to come, and another class of rich, well-connected, foreign-educated Malaysian elites whose cosmopolitan outlook and enhanced educational background will make them global citizens who can and probably will find their fortunes anywhere in the world. What a gift that we have given to the poor children of this country!
Our politicians never take us seriously. To add salt to the wound, some of us never bother to take things serious and dismiss all these as socio-political junks, allowing these ruthless nincompoops running amok with our lives. Or perhaps, it’s just me.
Maybe I should learn not to take thing seriously. It is a known fact that paying too much attention on the socio-political issues in this country is hazardous. You are susceptible to brain damage. You may get stroke or heart attack because of the rising blood pressure. Ah, talking about blood pressure, when I did my medical check up early of this month before I went for the Basic Offshore Safety and Sea Survival course, the BP reading is 140/90. That is considerably high for a young brat like me. I couldn’t find any reason to justify the high reading but now I think it may have to do with me eat, breath and shit too much political craps.
I need to read and write something happy. Or smoke something to make me happy. I’ll be back when I am happier. Take care guys, don’t let the nincompoops bring you down.
Update 2:Noktah Hitam posted the videos of the debate on his blog. Please check it out. I post part 1 of 5 as a teaser for everyone Check out these bloggers for their comments on the debate: chanlilian.net, KNizam, RockyBru and more blogs here.
ps: I just realised I spelled his name wrongly.. it should be Cheek instead of Chik, so amended the boo boo. Uh, there’s really a name ‘Cheek’ after all. Very cheeky..
Update 1: Astro Awani is carrying out the analysis on the debate. Very interesting. As usual they called up some ministers from both sides – Pakatan Rakyat and BN to get their comments on the debate. BN ministers never fail to amuse me, it is damn obvious the Information Minister has nothing, zilch facts when debating but still arrogantly said ‘Anwar Ibrahim has no facts, only rethorics’. Ha! Ha! Ha! You be the judge, please watch the debate video when it is out in the internet. I believe a video with complete subtitle will be out soon. Stay tune for that
My lousy 2 cents on Shabery Cheek vs Anwar Ibrahim debate on Fuel Price just now. (9pm – 10pm Astro Awani and TV9 – Hari Ini Bentuk Kerajaan, Esok Turun Harga Minyak – Today Form Government, Tomorrow Reduce Fuel Price)
Shabery Cheek obviously a lousy debater. He was often beating around the bushes and not to the points or questions raised. He was too emotional in making his points and focused too much on attacking Anwar Ibrahim’s past rather than debunking the points raised by him.
1. When talking about why Anwar insists to pursue his ambition to be the Prime Minister of Malaysia in order to reduce the fuel price and why can’t it be done with him outside the government.
Anwar chuckled and said that was why he was there for the debate and added that he is currently not in the govennment and his future is still uncertain but he felt compelled to make his points in this debate. Anwar openly said he and Pakatan Rakyat has no problem if the current government take into consideration his idea and implements it for the good of the people, and Pakatan Rakyat will support the good move and work with the government. The only question is whether the current government is willing to work with this idea? Will BN/UMNO listen and carry it out.
Shabery Cheek, while he supposed to answer that question (we would think an honest and good government that put the people’s interest will surely consider any good idea that will benefit the people), instead attacked Anwar – relating his past with Tun Razak and Mahathir and went on his ’syok sendiri’ (self ego masturbation) mode on how Petronas under BN/UMNO rule is the best, how people can never deny that it is BN that efficiently manages the petroleum company. Typical BN/UMNO ’syok sendiri’ and out of reality talk. How ridiculous!
2. Anwar explained in simple term how savings can be done from revising the lop sided agreements between the government/TNB and Independent Power Providers (IPPs), savings from corruption and wastages, then lastly using some profits from the increased revenue of Petronas to help reduce the burden of the people. His point is actually very simple – we need a good, wise and prudent management of government resources and efficient econonomy planning. He was entirely right when he focused his point on poor management of the country resources and wastages and trained his gun on the real cause of this whole issue – the government! The main issue is accountability and transparency of the government! Not Petronas, unlike the clueless Information Minister keep harping on!
But Shabery Cheek keep harping on why we should not use Petronas money to reduce the fuel price, comparing Venezuela, Iran and Saudi Arabia low fuel price but high inflation rate!! The guy just totally disillusioned and like I said was in his own ’syok sendiri’ mode. To the point bro, Anwar already made a concrete stand when he said he supports Petronas and will not irresponsibly use Petronas as cash cow to solve the problem. As usual, Shabery just continued the often repeated, recycled points used by the government to justify the fuel price increase – it is a global issue, it is global issue, it is a global issue and it is a global issue. Yes that is all his points. Oh he had more points, mostly points on Anwar’s past, keep digging the dirts. Typical BN style, always resort to personal attacks when you are out of ideas. Any BN guys that can debate rationally?? Please?? Or their supporters???
3. Nordin Kardi, being a Vice Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) just made a fool of himself when he questioned Anwar’s points on IPPs agreement revision when the topic was on fuel. Then he mentioned something on why Anwar chose to talk on fuel price, saying he was fishing for popularity. Hey you dumbass maggot, IPPs are subsidized by the government to produce electricity lah!!! They get subsidized diesel to produce electricity and sell it at high price to TNB as agreed in the lop sided agreements signed during Mahathir time. Then this is a debate on fuel price, hence we talked about the price lah!!! Bodoh!! Dungu! Otak kat lutut ke?? Entah macam mana ko boleh jadi Naib Chanselor UUM. Muahahahahahahahaha!
4. It is quite obvious who is the better debater, one that consistently making personal attacks and dishing out many often irrelevant, confusing and meaningless points and another one that kept his cool and explained in clear flow his proposal and future planning if he is given the chance to efficiently manage the country and subsequently reduce the fuel price. Shabery started his debate with personal attacks against Anwar where he brought up the incident when Anwar was still a student leader leading demo against Tun Razak in 1974, in the middle of the debate again brought up the incident, mentioned something about IMF and dragged Anwar’s name in it and lastly concluded his debate again with personal attacks on Anwar Ibrahim and sempat this fella said the government was being generous in allowing the debate. Bah! What a sore loser???
All said, I must commend BN government under Pak Lah for allowing this debate to be carried out. Under the rule of Mahathir this debate is almost impossible to realised. It is a start. We must have an open policy on politics, let the people make their noise heard and decide for themselves what is right and what is wrong, what is true and what is false. Our political landscape is changing and it is for better, I hope.
ps: I was distracted and quite disturbed by the foaming mouth of Shabery Cheek. For a while I thought he would passed out, foaming fatally because he probably realised he was making no sense in any of his points. So distracting.
I am back to the virtual world Missing out a lot of actions. I bet Suituapui has plenty of posts since last week for me to read.. since he’s bugging me everyday to online/post up something. 1st sms I received when I came back from Kuala Terengganu was from Suituapui – ‘Why no post? Cibol very active now, he got a internet connection already.’ ROFTLMAO… Then Man-D sms-ed me with her new mobile number asking about my ‘holiday’ haha! ‘What’s with the king size bed?’ Thanks for all the smses
As I mentioned in my previous post, I was away for a work trip to Hulu Terengganu. Need not to say, no internet connection and even my Digi line hardly make itself available there. Crap, what ‘WIDEST Coverage’ ‘Always with you’ ‘Always the smartest choice’ lah… I feel dumb the whole week Oklah, in their advertisement they put (Almost). I still can send and receive sms, but cannot send or receive mms or make and receive call.
I took some photos and videos while I was there. I stayed at Lake Kenyir Resort & Spa. Yes I sent the mms to Suituapui, my room with a king size bed. Dirty old man, I was showing off how comfortable and big the bed I had for myself lah! Not suggesting anything, especially to Suituapui! NOooo!! Never!!!! Some of the random photos I took on the trip:
View from the main lobby of the resort I stayed during the trip
Kenyir Lake, well small part of it. The whole lake is bigger than Singapore. Yes, Malaysia and its inferiority complex. Must mention we have bigger, longer, taller things here.
More of it..
Beautiful..
Here is one video I took using my mobile while cruising the lake. (Ehem, I did that after finished my work, okay!)
This the the Saok waterfall. I did not get the chance to perform ’skinny dipping’ there, it was late in the evening and I did not want to scare the animals that might be peeping.
This video was taken on our way to the project site using the logging track. Ignore the eerie laugh, and sorry for making you turning your head in such an angle to view the video properly. Hahahahaha!
Lousy video quality, videos taken using camera still with my friends. (Can try viewing the videos in original size, slightly better and clearer video. Go Menu> Original Size )
The logging track.
I am quite busy right now. I have to arrange few things. I am relocating to Sarawak next week. Yes, you hear that right. I am leaving Klang Valley. No Zewt and NoktahHitam, me not in Sarawak right now. (They told me before they thought I was in Sarawak all this while , not in Klang Valley.) Company will send me there for a project, probably for few months or up to a year.
After that, I will back back to Klang Valley!
Guess many things I cannot enjoy after I leave here. Such as this:
Kung Fu Panda Premiere Screening free tickets Memang, gua memang *LC!
*LC – Lan si – Lan si is often used to describe a snobbish person, a show off. Ehem, lan = penis, si = shit. Literally = shitty penis?? Lan si refers to that layer of filth under the fore skin of a penis. Hence, shit and penis respectively. Example of usage:
1. That person damn lan si.
2. You haven’t cleaned under your fore skin, there’s a lot of lan si and it stinks. Moral of the story, clean it or get yourself circumcised.
Sorry, sidetrack a bit there. Back to Sarawak, no more premiere screenings. Cannot LC anymore. Need to watch cheapo dvds on the market after this
I have few things to say to some good friends. Some of them I yet to meet them in person but we definitely have a good ‘chemistry’ in the virtual world. (Uh, that sounds pretty gay yeah?) I made a lot of friends especially into the year 2008.

David Cook – Always Be My Baby

You’ll always be a part of me
I’m a part of you indefinitely
Girl don’t you know you can’t escape me
Ooh darling cause you’ll always be my baby
And we’ll linger on
Time can’t erase a feeling this strong
No way you’re never gonna shake me
Ooh darling cause you’ll always be my… my baby
I ain’t gonna cry no
And I won’t beg you to stay
If you’re determined to leave girl
I will not stand in your way
But inevitably you’ll be back again
Cause ya know in your heart babe
