PM to rebrand Mat Rempit

Aug 21, 06 12:45pm Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will rebrand illegal motorcycle riders – popularly known as Mat Rempit – during an assembly in the Bukit Jalil national stadium this November.

Putera Umno chairperson Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said the rebranding of Mat Rempit was to change the illegal race participants’ image towards something better.

“We are thinking of a suitable name like Mat Cemerlang,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama.

“We are finding a proper direction for them. We could not stop them to continue with their interests but we can guide them to find a direction,” he added.

Abdul Azeez said the motorcylists should not be perceived as a threat, adding that, “If we cannot stop them, we join them. We try to understand them because they are our youths.”

At the three-day assembly starting from this Nov 12, several competitions would be held for the Mat Rempit with prizes including a Satria Neo and a motorcycle.

Strong bond

Abdul Azeez said several things that could be learnt from these illegal riders were their strong camaraderie and a large membership of at least 5,000 riders despite being an unregistered club.

“Due to this strong bond, 30 Mat Rempit will beat us if we cause trouble with its members,” he added.

He said Putera Umno did not want the bond to be inclined towards negative elements but wanted to drive the youths away from drugs and encouraged them to pursue their studies.

He said for an example, a representative from a Honda motorcycle and car dealer was impressed with the riding skills of these Mat Rempit.

The representative was also amazed with the engineering skills of the Mat Rempit, boosting the speed of their motorcycles to 180 kilometres per hour considering that the company’s engineers were having difficulties to achieve a speed of 120 kilometres per hour.

He said these Mat Rempit could actually be assets in building Malaysia if they were given the chance.

Abdul Azeez said this Aug 26, he and Umno Youth vice-chief Khairy Jamaluddin would come down to the ground on their motorcycles to meet the Mat Rempit.

Above article is quite old, about a month ago. I couldn’t stop laughing when I first read the article in The Star newspaper back then (you can read it here as well and more news on the initiatives by our politicians to win Mat Rempit’s votes :D here) and just now while browsing a forum, there is a thread dedicated for this article ‘Mat Rempit Rebranded’ and I couldn’t agree more with those forummers who posted their replies. Go over and give your 2 cents on this yea? :D

Mat Rempit = Mat Cemerlang? Bwahahahahahahahahaha! That’s funny man! Funniest phrase of the year! Why not Mat Gemilang? Mat Terbilang? Mat Wawasan? Hahahaha! C’mon lah, really, some of the politician really got no brain at all, it’s a wonder they still hold such a post in the government. (that made you and me dumber, because we voted them to office – em, I still technically not eligible to vote, will vite for the coming election :D so you guys out there that vote.. WTF? Why??)

To quote this guy ‘”If we cannot stop them, we join them.” So, I guess, that principle should/can be applied to other groups such as Mat Dadah (drug addicts), Mat Gangster (gangsters), Mat Ragut (snatch thiefs) and so on? After all if we cannot stop them, we join them yeah? Good one :)

When you and me assimilate with them, whatever crime we commit no longer a crime, because everybody is doing it, it’s a norm! Genius! Okay I was being sarcastic :D It’s a good intention, to rebrand those Mat Rempits into Mat Cemerlang-s, of course we should support this good cause, but the way I see it (maybe just me?) it’s another lame tactic by the politician to gain popularity/votes for himself. I don’t think he/they are even serious about the initiative turn Mat Rempit into Mat Cemerlang.

As always, ‘cakap banyak, hasil tarak’ – talk a lot in the end no result. Implentation and monitoring is our main problem. Malaysia is good in planning, no doubt on that. Just look at the 9th MP. Good, very well planned, but so far never really see/hear anything on implementing, monitoring of the things listed in the plan. We can always ‘plan’ again maybe in 10th MP. Or 11th MP, 12, 13..

Planning without proper execution = crap. So just rebranding is not enough, provide some concrete solutions, targets to achieve.  For example, provide an affordable track at a  strategic location for them to race, affordable means normal people can go to the track and use it, not like Sepang track. So farking far and so farking expensive, you expect Mat Rempits will have money to burn there? Finding the cause why the become Mat Rempit will be a better solution rather than rebranding them as hope that they will really become Mat Cemerlang.

Other things that I find funny from the article (or said by that fella)

The representative was also amazed with the engineering skills of the Mat Rempit, boosting the speed of their motorcycles to 180 kilometres per hour considering that the company’s engineers were having difficulties to achieve a speed of 120 kilometres per hour.

Serious?? Then the guy should consider hiring them as engineers for their engine developments. Ah, change the engineers at Proton, hire them instead. Then we may be able to produce sport car, or even race car! Who knows, develop an engine, our own Malaysia F1 car. Boleh lagi! This guy must be a Mat Temberang himself.

At the three-day assembly starting from this Nov 12, several competitions would be held for the Mat Rempit with prizes including a Satria Neo and a motorcycle.

Why always come up with this stupid thing? Last time MyKad to encourage people apply/renew it, the prize is Perodua MyVi. Then last year traffic summons things, to encourage people to pay up, the prize is Proton Savvy. WTF? Do we really need all this carrot-dangling policy? C’mon, apply/renew MyKad is a citizen’s  responsibility, as well as paying your summons. Just slap a heavy fine/sentence for those who disobey. Or maybe it’s the mentality, hard to change the mindset since it’s already like that for generations. No hope :(

“Due to this strong bond, 30 Mat Rempit will beat us if we cause trouble with its members,” he added. “

Triads and gangsters also like that what. So we are promoting gangsterism now bwahahaha! Oh he’s referring to the strong bond. Okay. Need to sleep now. Tired. Enough of tok-kok here. Good night guys!

Just another singer

So Suki won the One In A Million contest. Not really a big suprise, quite predictable although I backed Faizal to win after saw his last performance which is really good. And did he lose to Suki by a tiny margin of 5%! Suki collected 39% of the votes and Faizal 34 % of the votes. Faizal, he must be like ..’*%&!!?>>**&&!’ hehe.

Missed that one million.. so close yet so far. It’s really argumentative whether with this kind of talent search reality show.. you will really find a good, talented singer or will the one with real talent win or the one that’s popular with the crowd will win. And looking at the past results, seems like those who are more popular with the crowd.. won. After all, it’s the crowd that supported and voted for the person will buy his/her album. An artist only can survive if his/her album are selling well.

Road Pest

Thursday, September 14th, 2006 646 views

Just back from fetching Ame to airport. She has an interview this afternoon in Kuching, so I take leave for today :D (Lazyness syndrome again.. bah! Anyway I got plenty of leave left, so make good use of it -like writing a blog?? kah kah kah!)

So, when I was driving back from LCCT, on the road I saw this white Kancil car. I was driving in the fast lane, and this Kancil was in front of me… running maybe 60 km/hr?? And what the fark this Kancil doing in the fast lane? So I signalled to the left and overtake the car.

When I looked to the right at the Kancil.. Damn, an auntie.. ugly and fat.. (yeah I’m good at spotting ugly people with ugly behaviours.. there’re everywhere on the road in Malaysia. Er, she’s really fat..because she blocked the whole side windscreen with her body.. and poor car, driven her around..sob sob..) was talking on her mobile phone!!! WTF!!!!

Driving in the fast lane at 60km/hr, talking on the phone!! And, no, she was not using handsfree to talk. Dumb, ignorant pest! She might get herself killed for doing that.. oh good if only herself get killed, but she also endanger other road users. Selfish dumbass, if she want to die, go somewhere else where there’s no living thing around and die there, but please, not on the road.. Really not a suprise that accident rate in Malaysia so high with these people on the road. Road pests… they should be exterminated..

Oh yea, no offence to lady drivers, but from my observations, they are bit selfish on the road.. like this morning.. (almost every morning) this auntie.. (auntie again.. fark!) when she saw me giving signal to go out from the parking compound to the main road, she purposely accelerated her car. blocking my way out. ??? Why? Slow down and give way only took her less than 10 secs ( maybe 2-3 secs since my skills so good :P )

And because I’m damn annoyed every morning kena blocked like that.. (out of 10 times.. 8 times it’s the lady driver did that and yes I counted) I also went faster.. because I saw her start accelerating.. I just make the turn, pretended I didn’t see her car.. muahahahaha! Eat that you slow muthafucka!! Eat that! And, yes she backed off.. haha! (See? It’s hard to be a real gentleman on the road, because if you do that, you will stuck at that spot.. forever..)

Most of the time, I will wait and.. yeah, most of the time it’s male driver that give way, slowing down, giving me few secs to come out from the parking compound. For instance, this morning me damn tulan.. because… that auntie really did that on purpose.. she was quite a distance from the junction where I was and when she saw my car coming out.. she accelerated!! I was damn annoyed so I purposely did a quick turn in front her car.. and forced my way out. Not a good thing to do yes I know. Really.. I’m dumbfounded by this.. Girl supposed.. (supposed… k?) to be gentle, kind.. tolerance.. but become monster on the road!

Why?? Tell me why..
